2A MAIL TRIBUNE, Medford, Oregon, Sunday, October 12, 1958 Amy Ann Morse And John Bilich Set Wedding Day Washington, D.C. Senator and Mrs. Wayne Morse an nounce the approaching mar riage of their daughter, Amy Ann Morse, to John Matthew Bilich on Saturday, October 25, at the Shrine of the Most Blessed Sacrament in Wash ington. Mr. Bilich is the son of Mrs. Joseph A. Bilich of Ali quippa, Pa., and the late Mr Bilich. Miss Morse is a graduate of the University of North Caro lina and is a member of Chi Omega sorority. Mr. Bilich is in the public relations department of the National Supply company of Pittsburgh. The couple will reside in Sewickley, Pa. Club Announces Dinner Dance Plans for a dinner and dance to be held November 1 at the Rogue Valley Country club were discussed at the Thursday meeting of the Med- ford Sojourners. The meeting was held at the Girls Comma nity club and included dessert and cards. Introduced as new members were Mrs. Lewis McLaren, Mrs. Oscar Rasmussen, and Mrs. Ralph Jones. Others in troduced were Mrs. Earle Tichener, Mrs. William E Borne and Mrs. Richard Bri- denstine. Guests were Mrs Edith Hall, San Diego, Mrs. H, A. Anderson and Mrs. G. M. Bertelson, both Portland. Hostesses for the day were Mrs. Wesley Forler, Mrs. Rob ert Middleton and Mrs. Rob ert Hostetter. Gourds, Indian corn and yellow candles dec orated the tables for the event. Prizes were won by Mrs. Carl Borg Jr., Mrs. Ivelyn Hendricks, Mrs. Ernest Bur rell, Mrs. John Niss, Mrs. Eve rett Robinson, Mrs. Arthur Anderson and Mrs. Oscar Ras mussen. The next meeting will be held Thursday, October 23. All women who have lived in Medford and vicinity less than two years are invited to attend. Couple to Wed On November 14 Talent Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Granby, route 1, box 275, Tal ent, announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Dorothy Mae Long, to Jack A. Foster, son of Mr. and Mrs. Byron U. Turner, 121 King street. The wedding is scheduled to be held November 14 at the Talent First Methodist church. Miss Long is a graduate of Talent High school and is a student at Southern Oregon college. Mr. Foster is employ ed by Burrill's Lumber company. Marriage Announced Mr. and Mrs. Pleasant Nor man Aldredge are making their home at 1016 Court street, Medford, following their wedding October 2 at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Cave, 517 Park street, brother-in-law and sister of the bridegroom. - Dr. George G. Roseberry of First Methodist church of ficiated at the ceremony- held at nine o'clock" in the even ing and attended by 30 rela tives and friends. Mrs. Aldredge is the form er Margaret Blanch Snell Davis of 1205 East Main street. The bride wore a dark blue crepe dress with rose acces sories and rose carnation cor sage. Mrs. Robert E. Aldredge, daughter-in-law of the bride groom, attended the bride. Robert E. Aldredge served as best man for his father. Red roses, dahlias and daisies decorated the room for the wedding. A reception was held at the home following the ceremony by the sisters of the bride groom, Mrs. Cave, Mrs. A. D. Hulburt, and Mrs. Willard Cave. The newlywed couple travel ed to the coast on their wed ding trip. The bride wearing for traveling a black taffeta dress with rose accessories. 1 Women's Group To Hold Election Medford Jaycettes will hold election of officers at a meeting set for Wednesday, October 15, at the home of Mrs. James Asher, 1532 South Whitman avenue, at 8 p.m. Nominees are Mrs. Gary Shuler and Mrs. Charles Hen ry, president; Mrs. Allen Holmes and Mrs. Donald Mad den, first vice-president; Mrs. Allen Carpenter and Mrs. Crocker Hunter, second vice president; Mrs. Harold Gard ner, secretary; Mrs. Wilbur Robertson, treasurer. During the last meeting. held at the home of Mrs. Ar thur Van Leeuwen, the group voted to again participate in the annual Candidates' fair of Medford League of Women Voters. It will be held at Hed rick Junior High school Octo ber 17 from 8 to 10 p.m. Mrs. Glen Jennings, chair man, told the group of final plans for serving a luncheon for the United Medford Cru sade October 20. The club plans a Halloween party at Thurston's School of Dance October 25. This will be a masquerade party for members only. Chairman for this party is Mrs. Glen Keyes with Mrs. Wilbur Robertson as co-chairman. McKeown, 109 South Orange street, Med ford, in a ceremony held September 14 at the Skyline Boulevard Christian church in Tacoma. The" Rev. Fred L. Towne, Puyallup, officiated at the ceremony attended by 400 relatives and guests. Mr. and Mrs. Melvin B. Dennis are the bride's parents. Chrysanthemums and glad iolus decorated the church for the four o'clock afternoon ceremony. Mrs. Charles Booth was soloist. The bride wore a white satin gown accented with Al encon lace. The full skirt ter minated in a chapel train and her shoulder length veil Service League Founders' Day Luncheon Slated A group of new members of Medford Junior Service league will be announced at the annual Founders' day luncheon of the league this week. The luncheon will be held Wednesday, October 15, at 12:30 p.m. at Mon Desir Dining inn near Central Point. The luncheon will honor founders of the league. She carried a bouquet of white Amazon lilies and ste phanotis on a white Bible. Her only jewelry were Miki moto pearl earrings a gift from the bridegroom. Mrs. David Evans, Tacoma, was matron 'of honor. Other attendants were Miss Judy Dennis, sister of the bride, the Misses Nancy and Carol McKeown, sisters of the bridegroom from Medford, Miss Nancy Rauh, Seattle, and Mrs. Charles Booth, Yakima. They wore electric blue peau de soie frocks fashioned with bell shaped skirts with back panels and carried crescent shaped bouquets of white Fu ji chrysanthemums. Paul Shaffer, formerly of Medford and now of Salem, served as best man. Seating the guests were Melvin B. Dennis Jr., brother of the bride, Arthur Ekerson, Med ford, Finn Lepso, Colin Nes bit and Fred Stoll, Seattle. For her daughter's wed ding and the reception that followed Mrs. Dennis chose a pink embroidered satin dress with pink and white accessories. Her corsage was of pink cymbidium orchids. Mrs. McKeown wore a co balt blue silk tissue faille sheath dress with white ac cessories. Her corsage was of white cymbidium orchids. Cutting and serving the tiered wedding ' cake at the reception were Mrs. Lee Wil son, Mrs. William Patridge, Mrs. Finn Kepso and Mrs. Colin - Nesbit. Pouring were Mrs. Fletcher R. Burrus, Mrs. John Mitchell, Mrs. Edward Taylor, cousin of the bride, Mrs. Neil Gavin, aunt of the bridegroom, all Seattle, and Mrs. James Berkey, Bellevue. Punch was served by Miss Barbara Bruskland and Miss Sharon Berkey, cousins of the bride,' and Miss Katherine Gavin, Seattle, cousin of the bridegroom. Miss Colleen Berkey and Miss Candace Bruskland passed the bride groom's' cake. Mrs. Earle Shoup, Puyal lup,, was at the gift while Sherry and Julie Den nis, Port Orchard, cousins of the bride, were in charge of the guest book. The bride is a graduate of Puyall up High school and was grad uated from the University of Washington school, of dentis try in dental hygiene. She was affiliated with Pi Beta Phi social sorority. Mr. McKeown is a graduate of the University of Washing ton where he was a member of the 1957 Varsity crew, Commodore of the Varsity Boat club, member of Big W club, Oval club and Sigma Nu social fraternity. . He is now serving with the United States Air Force stationed at Misawa Air Force base. . Dinner, Dance Set By Rogues Lively Rogues club will hold a dinner dance at the Rogue Valley Country club Thursday; October 16, at 7:30 p.m. Host and hostess couples for the evening will be Mr. and Mrs. Robert Church and Mr and Mrs. James Porter. Mrs, Clifford Aldrich is in charge of decorations for the year. Chapter to Plan For Anniversary Central Point Plans for celebrating the 50th anniver sary of Nevita chapter, Order of the Eastern Star, will be made ata stated meeting of the chapter to be held Tues day, October 14, at the Ma sonic temple, Central Point. Mrs. Merrill Harsh, worthy matron, will preside. After the meeting the chap ter will hold officers' practice in preparation for the school of instruction October 22. She is now attending the University of Oregon Medical School of Nursing in Portland. Mr. Keaton attended the University of Oregon, where he majored in pre-medicine. He was affiliated with Theta Chi fraternity and was also a member of Asklepiads, na tional medical honorary so ciety. Business Women To Close Week With Pink Tea Medford Business and Pro fessional Women's Club will hold a "Pink Tea" at the Girls' Community club this afternoon from 3 to 5 o'clock The tea will close this year's National Business Women's week. Mrs. Harriet Watson, a past president of the club, is in charge. She will be assisted by Mrs. Grace Stuhr, Mrs. Norma Bur roughs, Mrs. Penny Harding, Mrs. Dona Edmonds, and Mrs. Marie Pierce. Pouring at the tea will be a number of past presidents of the club, including Mrs. Maud Snider, Mrs. Jacque Lenox, Mrs. Maurine Conger, Miss Laura York, and Mrs. Bertha Haskins. ' The tea is open to all in terested women. Prior to the tea the mem bers are planning to attend the open house sponsored by the Council of Aging at the new recreational quarters at Hawthorne and Jackson streets. . f Show to Stress Versatility of Dried Materials Central Polnt-The versatil ity of dried and treated mate rial for . use, as winter ar rangements, wall hangings and winter corsages will be demonstrated at the Central Point Garden club's "Florat Beauty in Wintertime" show to be held October 20 and 21 at the county, courthouse. The show will be the first of its kind in the valley, with all exhibits to be made of dried materials. Any dried material, wheth er natural, tinted, painted or glycerin treated may be used in the exhibitions, show offi cials report. Entries will be accepted between the hours of 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. October 20, with advance notice of entries to be made prior to October 15. This organization is composed of young women more than five feet 10 inches tall, and young men more than six feet two inches. Since arriving home Miss Kelley was honored at a party given by Griffin Creek Grange, and she was a lunch eon guest Saturday of Mrs. D. J. Bolton at Rogue Valley Country, club.
