While no proof is available, it is believed locally that this is also the first time any unit in Oregon has had only men officers. HS!8888 ; iLfe' ffj To celebrate the fact that the Oregon Shakespearean festival has produced all of the Bard's plays an accomplish ment of which few, if any, other festivals are able to boast, Tudor guild honored Angus A. Bowmer (at right) at a dinner Monday nighj at Mon Desir. Mr. Bowmer is founder and producing director of the festival, and completion of the canon during the 1958 season fulfilled a hope and dream which the director has had throughout the years. Mr. Bowmer, pictured here with A. C. Allen Jr., Medford member of the festival association board, was presented a portrait of himself in his Shylock costume for last summer's -production of "The Merchant of Venice" made by Dwaine Smith, a lettered scroll which is the work of Dr. Margery Bailey of Palo Alto, Calif., and a set of binocular from the guild and board members. Tribune MEDFORD, OREGON, SUNDAY, OCTOBER 12, 1958 October Brings Autumn Rush Of Activities Miss Barbara Read (at left) and Miss Janet Young have entered their horses in the ' Grand National Livestock exposition in San Francisco October 31 -November 9. Miss Read will take her half-Arabian palomino mare, Arabi's Image, and Miss Young will show her saddlebred mare, Stone wall's Madge. Miss Read has entered two classes, and Miss Young, three. Mrs. Richard D. Jewett, wife of the sports editor of the Medford Mail Tribune, poured for the tea which followed the eighth annual re porter's school held by the women's department of the paper Tuesday afternoon at Girls' Community club. Mrs. Ira V. Lawrence Jr., reporter for Mistletoe camp. Royal Neighbors of America, is shown with Mrs. Jewett. Each year some of the reporters attending The Tribune school are introduced and commended. Introduced this year were Mrs. E. R. Hoppe (at left), reporter for Zuleima temple. Daughters of the Nile; Mrs. Clarence O. Lack, who reports for Medford Garden club, Medford Home Extension unit and Friday Luncheon club, and Mrs. Elwood B. Beta Sigma Phi sorority. They are being served by Mrs. Earl H. Adams, whose husband is city editor of the newspaper. More than 80 women attend the afternoon class and tea.
