The bride-elect, a 1957 graduate of Medford High school, attended Lewis and Clark College at Portland her freshman year. She plans to enroll at Southern Oregon college, Ashland, this fall. Mr. Evans, a graduate of Oakland High school, is a sen ior at Lewis and Clark col lege. He is a member of Alpha Rho Omega fraternity. The wedding is being plan ned for next June. Guardian Council Makes Plans For Coming Activities Cave Junction The guard ian council of Kerby bethel, International Order of Job's daughters, met at the home of Mrs. Robert Steimer in Cave Junction Monday to make plans for bethel activiteis. New robes for bethel offic ers, the annual candy sale and coming visitations to neigh boring bethels were discussed, reported on the school of in struction for council members and Daughters held recently in Eugene. Attending were Mrs. Piper, Miss Diana Stroh kirch, queen, Lester Hoff, associate guardian; Mrs. ; Al ton Sowell, Miss Diane Blue, Miss Beverly Sowell, Miss Sandra Piper, Miss Jenny Carothers and Miss Nancy Hogan, officers of the bethel. The Rev. Har old Coleman officiated for the double-ring ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Robert Smith, Hilts, and the bride groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert F. Young, Etna, Calif. . Baskets of white gladiolus and stock decorated the church. Miss Judy Moore of Yrtka played the traditional organ music and accompan ied Miss Ann Wright, solo ist. The bride, given in mar riage by her father, wore a floor length gown of candle light imported chantilly lace and tulle over taffeta fash ioned' with a fitted bodice and full skirt with a pleated tulle flounce at the .hem. Her fingter tip length illusion net veil fell from a crown of sat in and pearls. She carried a cascade bouquet of stephan otis centered with a white or chid. Wear Taffeta Miss Mary Lee Rutledge, Hornbrook, was maid of hon or, and the bride's two sisters, Misses Candace and Janice Smith, were bridesmaids. All wore matching . frocks - of aquamarine taffeta with bouffant sKlrts and large bows in back. They wore matching tulle and velvet hats and carried nosegays of pink carnations. Little Nancy Trinca, flow er girl, wearing an aquamar ine taffeta dress with large butterfly bow in back and matching headband of taffeta and pearls, .carried a white basket filled with pink rose petals. Miss Diane Ward, in a pink taffeta gown, was candle lighter. . -- Paul Fredrickson, Sonoma, Calif., was best man and ush ers were Dr. Roy Mason Jr., lone, brother-in-law of the bridegroom, and Don Dowl ing, Etna. For her daughter's wed ding Mrs. Smith chdse a pure silk gown and hat of Dior blue. Her corsage was of white chrysanthemums. Mrs, Young, mother of the bridegroom, wore a brown dress with green' and brown accessories and her (corsage was of bronze chrysanthe mums, j Reception Held -' Following the ceremony a reception was held ""at the Yreka Inn. Miss Kaye" Har mon, Red Bluff, was in charge of the guest book. From a table covered by a hand crocheted lace cloth, Miss Dorice Young,, aunt of the bridegroom, cut the cake, made and decorated by Mrs. Edward Carrigan, Etna. Mrs. Roy E. Mason, sister of the bridegroom, served the cake. Mrs. Robert Jorgenson, Willows, presided at the punch bowl, assisted by Mrs. R. E. Richman, aunt of the bride. For her going away cos tume, the new Mrs. Young wore a two piece blue suit with white accessories and the orchid from her wedding bouquet. The young couple traveled to the coast for their wedding trip and will make their home in Chico. The bride is a graduate of Yreka high school and attend ed Chico State college for two years. She has been employed at the Bank of America in Yreka. ' ' To Attend College .- The bridegroom is a gradu ate of Etna high school and has attended the University of California at Davis and will continue his education at Chico State college. Hill Mr. and Mrs. Bob Morris of North Pacific highway, Gold Hill, announce the engagement of their daughter, Joan Elaine Morris, to Larry Vernon .Pirkey, son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Pir key, 433 Hopkins road in Cen tral Point. Both Miss Morris and Mr. Pirkey graduated from Crater High school in 1958. Mr. Pir key is now stationed with the United States Army at Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri. A spring wedding is planned. Manno will be installed president of St. Mary's High School Parents' club at its first monthly meet ing of the school year, to be held Wednesday, September 24, in the activities room be ginning at 8 p.m. Retiring President Ernest Flakus will install the new president, who in turn will present the other incoming officers of the organization.
