hi " r ' a LA wi f v I Mr. and Mrs. Howard Kenneth Elder Jr. (Brainerd photo) Elder-Rausch Ceremony Held in Cave Junction Cave Junction Immanuel Methodist church was the scene of the wedding ol Miss Ronine Ruth Rausch to How ard Kenneth Elder Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs.' Howard Ken neth Elder of Redding, Calif. The Rev. Harold Mackey read the double ring ceremony by candlelight on Saturday, Au gust 31. The bride, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert R. Rausch, was given in marriage by her father. She wore a full length gown of white Chantilly lace over crystalette and taffeta made with train and trimmed with mother-of-pearl sequins Her veil of silk illusion fell from a rhinestone tiara and she carried a white Bible topped with a white orchid. Miss Millicent Wray, maid of honor, wore a princess . style dress of yellow lace over yellow taffeta with a match ing tulle headdress held by a circlet of velvet, and car ried a nosegay of white and yellow gladiolus. Miss Nancy Chase and Miss Judy Collman were brides maids. They wore identical dresses of aquamarine crys- taxetie over pasiei green tai feta with matching tulle head dress held by a circlet of green velvet and carried nose gays of yellow gladiolus. The candlelighters, wear ing identical yellow and white flocked nylon dresses, were Miss Jackie Williams and Miss Ruth Murphy. William Murphy was best man and ushers were Gary Elmslie and Robert Burrows. Richard Buckendahl sang, accompanied by Mrs. Alice Beem. For her daughter's wedding Mrs. Rausch chose a gown of black Chantilly lace and chif fon with pink accessories and wore a corsage of pink gladiolus. Mrs. Elder, mother of the bridegroom, wore a dark brocade dress with white accessories and a white gladi olus corsage. The church was decorated with, baskets of white and yellow flowers and the aisle was marked by six standards covered with greenery and topped by flowers and candles. The reception was held in the parlors of the church. The couple cut the maltese cross wedding cake and in keeping with tradition, pledged their troth by drinking from the bride's cup. Mrs. Walter Hunting and Mrs. Raymond Heidenreich served punch and cake. Mrs. William Murphy and Mrs. Lester Chase presided at the gift table and Mrs. Betty Webb was in charge of the guest book. For her going away cos tume, the new Mrs. Elder wore a soft gray suit with red accessories and the orchid from her wedding bouquet. The young couple went to Reno and Lake Tahoe for their wedding trip and will make their home in Redding, Calif., where they are both attending Shasta Junior col lege. . The bride was graduated as Valedictorian of her class in 1957 from Illinois Valley High school. The bridegroom is a graduate of Shasta Union High school in Redding, and is employed by California Di vision of Highways. Out of town guests attend ing included the bride's two grandmothers, Mrs. Florence Swaney and Mrs. Pauline Rausch, of Hollywood, Calif., Miss Millicent Wray, North ridge, Calif., Mrs.. Lester and Nancy Chase of Dorris, Calif., Miss Norma' Jean Kerns Bride of Robert Parker Ashland-Miss Norma Jean Mrs. Parker chose a green silk Kerns became the bride of Robert R. Parker in a cere mony held Saturday, August 30, at the Ashland Nazarene church. The Rev. E. E. Craw ford officiated at the double ring rites held at eight o'clock in the evening. The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Burnell Kerns, 447 North Main street, Ashland. Mr. Parker is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond W. Parker, Eugene. . Baskets of pink and white chrysanthemums d e c o rated the church and a white arch covered by ivy formed a back ground for the wedding party. Miss Meredith Williams play ed the traditional organ music and accompanied Mrs. Clar ence M. Litwiller, soloist. The bride wore a white chantilly lace gown fashioned with fitted bodice and bouf fant shirred tulle skirt which terminated in a chapel length train. The apron tunic was also of chantilly lace. Her fingertip length veil was held by a cap of lace, sequins and pearls and she carried a bou quet of red rosebuds and stephanotis. The gown was designed and made by the bride's mother. Mr. Kerns gave his daughter in mar riage. Miss Ruby Keating. Colfax. Wash., was honor attendant for the bride while Miss Janet Kellom, Nampa, Idaho, and Mrs. James Kerns, sister-in-law of the bride, Mountain View, Calif., were brides maid and matron. They wore dresses styled on princess lines of aquamarine taffeta trimmed" with velvet ribbo'n of darker blue. They carried bou quets of pink and white chry santhemums. The Misses Caro line and Barbara Parker, sisters of the bridegroom, were candlelighters. They wore dresses styled as the at tendants in a darker aqua marine and wristlets of pink and white chrysanthemums. The Misses Linda and Gina Fountain, cousins of the bride, Redding, Calif., were flower girls. They wore dresses of pink nylon over satin and carried white baskets filled with rose petals. Kenneth Reeder, Roseburg, served as best man while Lauren Ellis, Portland, and James Kerns, brother of the bride, Mountain View, Calif., seated the guests.' ' For her daughter's wedding Mrs. Kerns wore a beige, lace sheath dress with coffee col ored accessories and a corsage of bronze chrysanthemum's. Mr. and Mrs. Claude Masters and Mr. and Mrs. Al Lawson, Grants Pass.. Mr. and Mrs. William Mur phy and children, Ruth, Pa tricia and Mike; Mr. and Mrs. Gary Elmslie and daughter, Rondi; and Mr. and Mrs. How ard Kenneth Elder, parents of the bridegroom, all from Redding. Following the ceremony a reception was held at the church parlors. Mrs. Dale Hoover was in charge of the event. Mrs. Arth Watrus cut the weddin? cake which was served by Mrs". Virgil Jackson. Mrs. George Zickefoose Jr. presided at the punch bowl and Miss Myrna Dean poured the coffee. Mrs. Bruce Mal pass was in- charge of the guest book and Mrs. H. W. Dixon and Miss Judy How ard were at the gift table. For her traveling attire the bride chose a white silk sheath dress with red accessories and red rose corsage. The bride is a' graduate of Ashland High school and at tended Northwest Nazarene college at Nampa, Idaho. Dur ing the summer she was em ployed by the Oregon Shake spearean Festival in Ashland. The bridegroom is also a stu dent at Northwest Nazarene college. They will make their home in Nampa. Among the out of town guests attending were Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Reeder and Faye. The Rev. Hugo V. I The bride attended Eagle Gurney, Grants Pass,, offici ated at the eight o'clock eve ning ceremony attended by 125 relatives and friends. The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Max Woodward, Route 1, box 92, Eagle Point. Mr. Boren is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Ben Boren, also of Eagle Point. v White gladiolus and red zinnias decorated the church for the ceremony. Mrs. John Millard, cousin of the bride, was soloist. Given ,in marriage by her father, the bride wore a white embossed satin ballerina length frock styled on prin cess lines. She carried a bou quet of red carnations and white stephanotis. Miss . Maxine Woodward was honor attendant for her sister. She wore a red cotton sheath frock with white chif fon cummerbund. Bridesma trons were Mrs. Harvey Nel son Jr. and Mrs. David Schnei der, China Lake, Calif. They wore white cotton sheath frocks with red chiffon cum merbunds. Errol Tresham served as best man while seating the guests were Wayne Christian and Charles Pettigrew. Following the ceremony a reception was held . in the church basement. The newlywed couple trav eled to Grants Pass on their wedding .trip. For her travel ing attire the bride wore a blue and white cotton frock. Point High school and Med ford Beauty school:. She is employed as a beautician by Rollands Studio of Beauty. Mr. Boren attended Eagle Point High school and is a student at Southern Oregon college.
