Ike Signs Bill For Lower Supports Washington -v(UPD - Presi dent Eisenhower today signed a bill providing lower price supports and greater planting freedom for farmers. The new law, enacted by a Democratic controlled Con gress, embraces much of the controversial farm policy recommendation of Secretary of Agriculture Ezra T. Ben son. It would permit lower price supports for corn next year and for cotton and rice, start ing in 1961. The new mini mum price floor for these three crops would be 65 per cent of parity. Supports now range from 75 to 90 per cent of parity, depending on sup plies. The legislation also staves off scheduled sharp cutbacks in planting minimum allot ments of 16 million acres for cotton and 1,600,000 for rice. Sarasota, Fla..
