Garclen Rites Marry Pair A garden ceremony Sunday, August 17, wedded Edith Maie Besondy, Ashland, to Victor Basil Robb, Medf ord. The service took place at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond B. Dallaire, 1060 Crater Lake avenue, with L. Peers Wil meth, Ashland justice of the peace, officiating. The bride is a daughter of Mrs. Bertha Baughman, Ash land, and the bridegroom is a son of Mrs. David Wallace, Corona, Calif. Mrs. Frank Hoehner, Ash land, was matron-of-honor for the bride, and Eric Reich, Portland, was best man. The bride wore a gown of soft pink chiffon fashioned waltz length with fitted bod ice and bouffant skirt with drapery detail. Her feather hat matched her gown . and she carried pink and white carnations. Mrs. Hoehner wore a pale blue voile after noon dress with matching fea- thered hat and carried a nose gay of blue and white daisies. The bride's mother wore a pink and white printed voile afternoon dress. A simulated altar banked with greenery, gladiolus and fuchsias, and the blossoms of the garden provided a setting for the bridal party. Fifty guests attended the ceremony and the reception which followed in the garden. Mrs. Earl Adams poured and Mrs. Harold Baughman com pleted the cutting of the wed ding cake. The newlyweds are spend-J ing a noneymoon at Lake Louise and . other Canadian points and will live in Med ford upon their return. The bride's travel dress was of blue silk with complementing accessories. The bride, a long-time resi dent of Ashland, is office nurse for Dr. Harvey Woods, Ashland. The bridegroom is in the insurance business. Martin, both of this city, was held Saturday, August 16, in Park Wedding chapel, Reno, Nev. The bride wore a navy blue dress with white trim for the ceremony. She is a past presi dent of Jackson County In surance Women and a past noble grand of Olive Rebekah lodge. Mrs. Martin is an agent with Bateman Insurance com pany and Mr. Martin is em ployed by Dean and Taylor. En route home to Medf ord, Mr. and Mrs. Martin motored through Mt. Lassen park. The Smith's live at Rolla, Mo., where Captain Smith is attending Missouri School of Mines. mm Miss Sharon Hogan TVcd To Kenneth Nils Matt son A home ceremony held Saturday, August 16, wedded Miss Sharon Kathleen Hogan and Kenneth Nils Mattson. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Melvin N. Hogan, 1512 E?st Main street, this city, and the bridegroom is a son cf Mr. and Mrs. John C. Mattson, Portland. The wedding took place at two o'clock on the patio in the garden, with ivy and bas kets of white gladiolus form ing a setting for the bridal party. Redwood planters filled with white petunias edged the patio. Dr. George Roseberry of First Methodist church read the double-ring service, and ; Mr. tiogan gave nis aaugmer in marriage. She wore a gown of Alencon lace, floor length, with fitted bodice and bouf fant skirt of silk organza 'over net. A wide sash tied in back. Her finger-tip length "veil was held by a cap and she carried a colonial bouquet of white carnations and ste phanotis with blue ribbons. Californian Here Matron-of-honor was ' Mrs. A. S. Monroe, Palo Alto, ; Calif., the former Carol Cole 'man of Medford, and Miss Lilly Marie Mattson, the bridegroom s sister, was bridesmaid. Their frocks were of white silk organza em broidered in blue and worn with wide blue satin sashes tied at the back. They wore garden hats of blue horsehair trimmed with narrow velvet ribbon and carried nosegays of white carnations and blue delphinium. Teresa and Eric Hogan, daughter and son of Mr. and Mrs. Ervin B. Hogan, and cousins of - the bride, were flower girl and ring bearer. The flower girl wore a frock of white organdy over pale blue with white gloves and blue hat and carried a nose gay of white carnations. The ring bearer, wearing a white linen suit, carried the rings on a blue satin pillow. Jerry Theiland, Portland, was best man for the bride groom and Michael Hogan, Keno, Ore., brother of the bride, seated the guests. Mrs. Kenneth Brown pro vided organ music. For the event the bride's mother wore a dress of pink linen and lace with gardenia corsage. The bridegroom's mother was attired in a frock of aquamarine color with small matching hat and gar denia corsage. Reception Held At the reception which fol lowed the ceremony the bride cut the wedding cake with the heirloom knife of the W. J. Warner family, used at many Medford weddings. Mrs. Robert Walker and Mrs. Charles Ashpole served the wedding cake. Pouring punch were Miss Sally Perrott, Ar eata, Calif., Miss Marilyn Pat terson, San Francisco, and Mrs. Eugene Gambee, Port land. Mrs. Henry Andrews and Mrs. Laura Rowan poured coffee. Miss Rebecca Rowan took charge of the guest book and Miss Jan Crawford dis tributed rice packets. The newlyweds are spend ing their honeymoon at Car mel, Calif., and in the Bay area. The bride's traveling suit was of fall blue wool with taupe accessories and hat trimmed with pheasant feathers. They will make their home at 900 S.W. St. Clair street, Portland, after Septem ber 1. The ceremony took place August 16 in West Seattle Assembly of God church, with about 120 guests attending. The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Ward, Seattle, and the ; bridegroom is a son of the Rev. and Mrs. Ernest Evers, Shady Cove. The bridegroom's father offi ciated "for the double-ring service, held at eight o'clock in the evening. Mr. Evers and his bride spent their honeymoon at Lake of the Woods resort, and are living in San Fran cisco. !. For her wedding the bride wore a gown of white taffeta and lace - with long lace sleeves and round neckline trimmed with sequins. She carried a white orchid on a Bible. Mrs. Earl Evers, Shady Cove, was matron-of-honor for her sister. Her gown was sky blue and she carried blue carnations on a white Bible. Mrs. Larkin Gibson and Mrs. Milbert Junkert, sister-in-law of the bride, were bridesmatrons. They also wore blue frocks and carried carnations on white Bibles. Mr. Ward gave his step daughter in marriage, and Roger Bohanon was best man.
