Tree-Form' Styles Endorsed by Teens, Juniors This Fall Juniors and teens heartily endorse this fall's "free-form" fashions that have the com bination of youthfulness and sophistication they like so well. A favorite of both, and very' new in teen circles, is the walking suit with three-quarter to seven-eighth length coat worn over a matching skirt. The teen's choice is apt to be on the casual side, in such fabrics as herringbone tweed or bold blanket plaids. The coat-jackets are often belted below the waist, either in back or all around, Norfolk style, and may be pile-lined for warmth. Have Dressy Look Walking suits for ' juniors are more dressy. They prefer spongy-textured fabrics such as mohair - and - wool and bright broadcloths and black-and-white tweeds. 'The chemise influence is often evident, usually com bined with high or low-placed belts or seams. Back interest centers around convex lines and gathers topping bands set into the hip or hemline. ,. The trapeze is another pop ular silhouette for suits and coats. Its appeal is heightened by such vivid colors as candy pink, orange, cobalt blue and moss green, with wide Puritan or stand-away collars or, ;ior a luxury touch, fur trinv -: Fluffy opossum, fox and raccoon collars are faVbred, along with otter, white bea ver, mink, seal and muskrat. Eased by Pleats ' In teen coats, the slim line may be eased by low pleats or panels, accented by bands and bows. Teens also like trapeze coats. For daytime wear, the jun ior's choice is likely to be a tapered chemise in jersey or a wool or cotton knit. A "little girl look is achieved by fullness spreading from, a high waist line. Other trapeze dresses have controlled fronts and full, free-flowing backs. ' Jumpers take on both chem ise and trapeze looks, in such fabrics as ribbed cotton or tweedy wool. Bow neckline silk shirts and hooded jersey blouses are among the popular accompaniments. Combine Three Parts Well-liked by juniors and teens is the new-for-fall three part outfit, consisting of a waist-skipping weskit, blouse and skirt. Relaxed line separates of all sorts win young favor. Overblouses and middies in boucle tweeds or jersey team up with . slim or wide box pleated trapeze skirts, espe cially new-looking' in wool blend iridescent suitings. Blazers and skirts are often coordinated in an unusual plaid. Sweaters are long, sometimes reaching to the leg, although many can be gently bloused. Rough, hairy tex tures are liked, such as Shet lands and mohair blends. Youngsters' Shoes Follow Adult Trend . A wide range of shoe styles, patterned after the fop trends in adult footwear is ready to fit the needs of every boy or girl for school, dress or rough-and-tumble wear. Shown in lightweight lea thers that support growing feet , without constriction, young shoes follow the trend toward a gently tapered toe and a general look of light ness. For little girls, .the flat heeled', round-throated pump in colorful leathers is one of the most popular styles. It's varied to include bows at the vamp, swivel, straps that can be worn several ways, low set instep straps or T-straps. Slip-on styles feature peaked tongues or tab ' effects at vamp. i ; ' Shoes for young boys ac cent streamlinea lightness, flexibility and sturdiness. Fashioned after 'shoes worn by Dad or big brother, the moccasin toe, three-eyelet tie in finely textured leather is a popular shoe for all-round wear, as is the traditional wing-tip shoe, slimmed down. Portable Typewriter Helps Improve Grades Outstanding educators agree that a portable type writer helps the teen-ager im prove his grades. The type writer, as a new tool, appeals to a student's curiosity and spurs his interest in his school work. With a typewriter, young folk can. turn out orderly work and learn the import ance of neatness. In 1950, 13.4 percent of the primary-age population were not enrolled in school. Newest version of the coat dress hs side-wide skirts, wide sleeves and, often, a bloused back. Male Hat Styles Combine Comfort, Colorful Looks Comfort plus colorful good looks are the male hat story this fall. American men have ex pressed their preference for lightweight flexible felts and these new hats give them plenty to choose, from for wear with their cold weather outfits. The new lightweight win ter hats are available in both dressy and casual models. The newest shape is called the "Centre-dent." It is a becom ingly small mpdel that adds a smart front pinch to its cen ter creased shape: It also has a narrow silk binding pn its brim edge that ensures a smart snap. Tight Telescope The tight telescope with a solid color band and back bow continues as one of the most popular shapes. All hats are smaller in over all size so that they are now an integral part of the slim fashion silhouette. Mixture felts blended of multi-colored furs, hats with crown and brim in softly con trasting shades, and factory- shaped telescope effects are also very popular. Trim brims-up, off-the-face hats and homburgs set the pace in j dressier hats, while rough j textured felts and smooth suede finishes and velours in Tyrolean shapes are great for sportswear. While there is a complete range of colors available, mid dle tones of gray and brown, rather ,than deep char tones, are high fashion choices. Also there is an interest in unusual shades of serpent green, hick ory brown and medium blue. LUXURIOUS SLEEPING Luxury silks and nylons in glowing tones are favored for sleepwear. Silk satin and ny lon sheer georgette are liked for g o w n-and-peignoir en sembles. Low-cut bodices are etched with hand-cut Alencon lace. T l L E I T Y O U R S E L F PLASTIC FLOOR 12c ea.
