The students were guests of the Medford Junior Chamber of Commerce while here. Following their arrival Tuesday a small reception was held at the Harlan P. Bosworth Jr. resi dence. Pingle of Los An geles, and Butte Falls, cele brated their 25th wedding an niversary Wednesday evening, July 30, at a dinner party in the Candle Room of the Medford hotel. Guests at the dinner were Mr. and Mrs. William Bigham, Eagle Point; Mr. and Mrs. Kerry Livingston, Medford; Returns Mr. and Mrs. Clay M. Lee, Cargill court, Medford, have returned from a two weeks vacation' during which they toured Oregon, Idaho, Mon tana, Wyoming, Utah, Ne vada, and California. The Greyhound tour included a several day stop-over at both Yellowstone National park and in Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. Bruce E. Ping'e, and Miss Julio Pingle, Butte Falls. Dehle. Oslo, Norway; Miss Laverne Brady, conductor of the tour from North Carolina; Albert Burger, Lucerne, Switzerland; Mrs. Bosworth pouring the coffee, and Robert Widmer. St. Gall, Switzerland. The group loured a pear orchard and fruit packing company as well as a lumber firm. (Knackstedt photo) Foreign Students Tour Valley Industries and Area Recent valley visitors were four foreign students and a director who were guests of the Medford Junior Chamber of Commerce' while in the valley. The group arrived by pri vate car and .were taken to the home of Mr. and Mrs. Har lan P. Bosworth Jr. where a reception was held. Among those attending were Mayor John Snider and Mrs. Snider and members of the Jaycees. The students were over night guests of the Bosworths, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas J. Reeder, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd E. Lewis, and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Jones. Tourtd Industrial Wednesday the group ac companied by Charles N E. Jones, Jaycee chairman, visit ed valley industries. They watched pear picking at Hill crest orchards and the pack ing of the fruit at Pinnacle Packing company. Following lunch at the Rogue Valley Country club, the group toured Medford corporation where Chandler Drew ex plained the process from the logpond to the shipping de partment. That evening the students accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Jones attended the Ashland Shakespearean festival pro duction of "Merchant of Venice."' Thursday morning the group left for San Francisco. Prior to their arrival in the valley, the group traveled through the Badlands of the Dakotas, attended a rodeo at Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, and Crater Lake National park. Medford and Salem were the only Oregon cities visited by the group. Chicago Family Visits Relatives Central Point Guests at the hqme of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Manner, 129 South Sixth street, Central Point, were Mr. and Mrs. Martin Green wald and children, Cheryl and Martin, of Chicago, 111. During their visit here din ner guests July 25 included Mr. and Mrs. Marshall Day of Shady Cove and Mr. and Mrs. Jack Cummings and daughter Cheryl, of Medford. Mr. Greenwald is a nephew of Mrs. Manner and Mrs. Day. While vin the valley Mr. Greenwald also visited his grandmother. v f- . -.. Wedding Planned Shady Cove The wedding of Miss Darlene Junkert, daughter of Mr. aii Mrs. Charles Ward of Seattle, Wash., and Floyd R. Evers, son of the Rev. and Mrs. Ern est Evers of Shady Cove, is scheduled for August 16 in Seattle. The event will be held in the West Seattle As sembly of God church. A re ception will follow the cere Valley Visitor From Sweden Visits Relatives Several t Medford families will entertain a relative from Stockholm, Sweden, during the next lew weeks. Eric Ner hammer of Stockholm arrived here July 19 for his second visit to Oregon in 30 years. During his stay here Mr. Nerhammer is visiting Mr. and Mrs.rRobert E. Nelson, Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Nelson, Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Nelson, and Dr. and Mrs. Gene Cham berlain. The Nelsons are all nephews of the visitor and Mrs. Chamberlain is a grand niece. Additional Medford visitors are Mr. Nerhammer's two nieces from Portland, Mrs. Alice Stafford and Mrs. Ber nie Lazarus, and Mr. Lazarus. Mr. Nerhammer plans to remain in Oregon for two mdhths, leaving by train for Chicago in September to visit other relatives. He will leave from New York by ship for Sweden. From Medford he will go to the Portland area where a number of other rel atives live including a broth er, Carl Nelson of Gresham; , '"If , Miss Sharon Graham Betrothal News told by Parents Mr. and Mrs. Patrick Gra ham, 175 Jsanette street, Med ford, announce the engage ment and approaching mar riage of their daughter, Sha ron Rose Graham, to John Martinez, San Francisco, Calif. The wedding is scheduled to be held in San Francisco September 21. Miss Graham is a graduate of Klamath Falls High school and is employed by the Bank of America in San Francisco. Pink and black decorations were used in the Carlton home for the event, the colors be ing the planned kitchen colors of the honored guest. Assisting the hostess were Mrs. Charles Cushman, Mrs. Kenneth Paulson, and Mrs. Rufus Trusty. Denman, 104 Geneva street, Medford, was announced recently at a party at the home of Miss Daley's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Randall M. Daley. ine announcement was made on the wedding anniver sary of the Kenneth Denmans July 19. Miss Daley is a graduate of the University of Maine where she . was affiliated with Phi Mu social sorority. She plans to teach home economics at Hamden High school, Ham- den, Conn., this fall. Lieuten ant Denman is a graduate of Medford High school and Ore gon State college and is serv ing with the United States Air Force at Dow Air Force Base, Bangor, Maine. He is a mem ber of Phi Delta Theta fraternity. No date has been set for the wedding. Baker, 215 North Keeneway drive, is Mrs. Bak er's mother, Mrs. Sarah Mars- den. Roseneath. Ontario, Canada. Mrs. Marsden, who arrived here two . weeks ago with an other daughter, Mrs. R. C. Cormier, Cleveland, Ohio, plans to spend a month in the valley. Mrs. Cormier returned to her home recently. Miss Ann Denman Honored at Events Miss Ann Denman, daugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth G. Denman, . 104 Geneva street, Medford, has been hon ored at several bridal show ers recently. She is the bride elect' of Clarence Hultgren of Portland. Miss Denman, a senior at the University of Oregon School of Nursing, Portland, was honored by members of her class last month and later at a shower by friends of Mrs. Carl J. Hultgren, mother of Clarence Hultgren, in Eu gene. About 20 guests attend ed each event. Last week end the engaged couple . visited in Medford. While here Miss Denman wai honored at a brunch and bridal shower at the home of Mrs. Justin Smith, 21 Geneva street. Hostesses ,were Mrs. Smith and Mrs. Dwight Find ley.
