G 14 MAIL TRIBUNE, HerJ. Oregon, Sunday, July 27, 1938 Diary ff of a . &J Bjrd Watcher rff j -- " ' i Friday. July It We cooKed our hamburgers outdoors on the charcoal grill. While we vera eating, a flock of bushtits came into a nearby tree. We loe these' little birds that have been fre quenting our jSIace more than usual lately. I guess there is a charm in all tfhy things. These are very small, all gray in color arft are about half tail. They come in flocks of 20 or so, flit en masfe into a tree, work over all its branches for insects, eggs or larvae, and then fly on to the next, looking almoslike leaves blown by a wind. This is one of ine pleasures or. eatinj outdoors. You leel a companionship with friends like theia. O SVnrlaw.
