o " ,111. i m IP J ' ' ' " Mr. and Mrs. Delmer Lavern Barnard (Brainerd photo) Bgrnard-Browu Wedding Is Event of Mid-July o An event of July 14 was the wedding of Miss Georgia Lee Brown and Delmer Lavern Barnard held at First Methodist church. Dr. George G. Roseberry officiated at the double-ring rites, held at 7:30 o'clock in the evening and attended by 100 relatives and friends. The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George I. Brown, 641 South Holly street, and the eldest grand child of the late Mr. and Mrs. Sidney I. Brown of Medford. Mr. Barnard is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Marvin L. Barnard, 1375 Orchard Home drive. Salmon and white colored .gladiolus decorated the church ' for the ceremony and white satin bows marked the pew ends. J. Hoyt was soloist The bride wore a floor length white silk gown styled with round neckline and long sleeves. Seed pearls outlined the neckline and trimmed the tiara which held her shoulder ; length veil. She carried a bou quet of pink rosebuds and stephanotis on a white prayer book. Mr. Brown gave his daughter in marriage. Attending the .'bride were her three sisters. Miss Mari lyn Ruth Brown was maid of honor and bridesmaids were Miss Sharon ' Wymore and Mias Judy Wymore. They wore pfle blue brocaded taf feta ballerina length frocks with Persian blue sashes. Their headdresses and shoes matched the sashes and they tarried bouquets of majestic white daisies and ivy. Candlelighters were Susen Ann Nelson and Michael Gar nier, cousins of the bride. Sid ney Thomas Brown, brother ' of the bride, wa ring bearer. Don Knapp, Grants Pass, served as best man, while ushers were Cornell Sabo and Dale Barnard, brother of the bridegroom. For her daughter's wedding Mrs. Brown wore a cham pagne colored embroidered raw silk dress with pink ac cessories. Mrs. Barnard wore a pink lace dress with white accessories and white carna tion corsage. Following the ceremony a reception was held at the Pio neer room in Sackson hotel. Pale yellow and salmon col ored gladiolus and pink stock decorated the room for the event. Mrs. Ray Garnier, aunt of the bride, cut and served the wedding cake while Mrs. O. E. Henderson, Eagle Point, great - grandmother of the bride, presided at the punch bowl. Mrs. Curtis Hopkins, Central Point, poured the cof fee. The couple left for Chicago, 111., on their wedding, trip where they will make their home for a year. The bride chose for her traveling attire a black and white hound's tooth checked suit with, white and black accessories. The bride attended Medford High school and was employed by Wainscott's Pharmacy. Mr. Barnard attended Rogue River Academy and is an X-ray tech nician with the U. S. Army in Chicago. Party is Given For Bride-Elect Butte Falls Miss Julie Pingle, whose wedding to Douglas Fuller, Eugene, is set for next month, was honored at a party July 16. It was given by Mrs. Kerry Living ston, Medford, and Miss Mary Ann Hubbard. Prospect, in Mrs. Livingston's home, ZVi Berrydale avenue. The two hostesses are to be Miss Pin gle's attendants. Miss Pingle was presented gifts for her new home, the packages having been arrang ed in a miniature moving van. Guests were Mrs. C. C. Hag gard, Miss Gloria Haggard, Mrs. Jack DeRosher and Mrs. Victor Chapman, Prospect; Mrs. Morley . Pingle and the bride-elect's mother, Mrs. Bruce Pingle. Butte Falls; Miss DeMaris Glutsch, Miss Kathy Olsen, Butte Falls, Mrs. Jack Shaw and Miss Lynette Shaw, Medford, Mrs. D. M. Chandler, Union Creek and Mrs. William Bigham, Eagle Point. At Ranch Mrs. Nion Tucker, San Francisco, has arrived in the county to spend several weeks at the Tucker ranch near Prospect. Also at the ranch are Mrs. Tucker's daughter, Mrs. Tucker Mc Evoy and son, Nion Tucker McEvoy, Washington, D. C. Golden Link Class of First Baptist church will hold the annual picnic supper Thurs day, July 24, at 6:30 p.m. at the N. A. Mead home, Grant road. The meal will be pot-luck. Herman-Ruth Ceremony Held at Baptist Church Miss Doris Emily Ruth became the bride of Amil Herman in a ceremony held Saturday, July 12, at First Baptist church. The Rev. James Neely officiated at the three o'clock after noon ceremony attended by more than 200 relatives and guests. The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Geneva Ruth, 317 South Orange street, Medford, Ceremony Weds Judith Wallace, Dale L Morgan Central Point An event of Monday, July 7, was the wedding of Miss Judith Wal lace to Dale L. Morgan, held at five o'clock at Central Church of Christ in Medford. The ceremony was read by the Rev. Dexter Williams, pastor of the church, and bas kets of calla lilies decorated the church. The bride wore a ballerina length turquoise satin dress fashioned with a round neck line and three quarter length sleeves. Her corsage was of salmon color gladioli. Mrs. Curtis Garrison was her sister's only attendant. She wore a street length dress of white and red with threads of gold. Her accessories were white and gold. Best man was Gerald Mor gan, brother of the bride groom For her sister's wedding Mrs. Michael Loeffler chose a blue flowered dress with white accessories. Mrs. Ruby Colgan, grandmother of the bridegroom, wore a navy blue flowered dress with red ac cessories. The wedding was attended by 25 , relatives and close friends. A reception was held at the Loeffler home, 702 Vic tory street, Medford, and later a charivari party was held at Mrs. Colgan's home. Thursday evening a shower was given at the Colgan home in honor of the newly mar ried couple. Approximately 30 guests attended the affair. Games were played and re freshments were served. Mr. and Mrs. Morgan left Sunday to make their home in Corpus Christi, Texas, where Mr. Morgan is station ed with the Navy. The bride has made her home in Medford with her sisters, Mrs. Garrison and Mrs. Loeffler, and the bride groom with his grandmother, Mrs. Colgan, at 250 Wilson road. He attended Crater High school before joining the Navy two years ago. and the late Ernest Lynn Ruth. Mr. Herman is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Herman, Orland, Calif. White gladiolus and fern decorated the church for the ceremony. Kenneth Raymond played the traditional organ wedding music and accom panied Mrs. Larry Ruth, sister-in-law of the bride, soloist. The bride wore a white bal lerina length brocaded taffeta frock fashioned with fitted bodice and pleated skirt, and her elbow length mitts were of lace. Her nylon net veil was held by a crown of orange blossoms and she car ried a white orchid and steph anotis on a white Bible. Her pearl necklace was a gift from the bridegroom. She was giv en in marriage by her broth er, Larry Ruth of Ashland. Miss Verna Cingcade was maid of honor and other at tendants were Miss Joyce Col vin, Miss Anna Laura Honts and Mrs. Earle Wilder, Ham ilton City, Calif. Their baller ina length frocks were fash ioned with .fitted bodices and flared skirts. Miss Cingcade was in blue and carried white gladioluses with blue ribbon and the other attendants wore pink and carried pink gladio lus. Little Ann Wilder was flow er girl and Crystal Ruth, niece of the bride, was candlelight er. They wore pink frocks styled as the bride's attend ants. Jerry Ruth, nephew of the bride, was ring bearer. Earl Eugene Wilder, Ham ilton City, Calif., served as best man for his cousin. Seat ing the guests were Roy Stripe, Keith Bougher, and Ashland Party . Honors Gouple A s h 1 a n d Dr. and Mrs. Gordon Wimpress, Golden, Colo., were honored at a cock tail party held Friday evening by their hosts, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Skerry, 580 Morton street, Ashland. Approxi mately 50 Ashland friends of the Skerrys attended. Mrs. Wimpress and Mr. Skerry are brother and sister. Dr. Wimpress is assistant to the president of Colorado School of Mines in Golden. The guests plan to leave the valley today on their return to Colorado. Mr. and Mis. Robert Fossek, all Orland, Calif. Reception Held Following the ceremony a reception was held at the church. Mrs. Russell Uhrine and Mrs. Angus Lindstrom cut and served the tiered wedding cake and Mrs. John Luttrell and Mrs. Donn Piatt presided at the punch bowls. Assisting with the serving were Mrs. Don Zimmers and Mrs. Wil liam Koepke. Miss Edythe Fox, Corning, Calif., was in charge of the guest book. White and pink gladiolus dec orated the rooms for the event. Women who assisted with the reception and rela tives of the newlyweds wore pink tea rose corsages made by Mrs. L. G. Gentner. The couple will make their home in Orland, Calif., fol lowing their return from a wedding trip to Victoria, Van couver Island, British Colum bia. For her traveling attire the bride wore a blue linen sheath dress with matching bolero and white accessories. Her corsage was a white or chid. The event was held at Mary's Casa, owned by the godmother of the bridegroom, Mrs. A. Carrara. Elder H. O. Martin of Church of Christ on West Main street, officiated at the ceremony, at tended by 80 relatives and friends. The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank. A. Bow en, 522 North Riverside ave nue. Mr. Coghill is a son of Mrs. Michael H. Fuhrer, 316 Laurel street, Central Point, and the late Cecil H. Coghill Sr. . . Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a white nylon net ballerina length frock over white taffeta with a fingertip length heirloom veil held by a crown of pearls. Her bouquet was of white carnations and lilies of the valley. Miss Patricia L. Bowen attended-her sister. She wore a lavender nylon net frock and carried a bouquet of white carnations and lavender net. James E. Coghill served as best man for his brother. Following the ceremony a reception was held. Mrs. Car rara cut and served the wed ding cake and Mrs. Carole Hills, aunt of the bride, was in charge of the gift tables as sisted by her daughter, Miss Carroll Hills. The couple are making their home in Medford follow ing a wedding trip to Salt Lake City, Utah.
