In such states jinost assets ac cumulated during the mar riage belong to each spouse equally. Community property laws appear to give great pro tection to the wife and to give legal recognition to the oft-spoken words of proposal: "Everything I have is yours." Certain Exceptions However, certain things are excepted from community property treatment and re main the separate property of the individual spouse. These exceptions include all prop erty acquired by either spouse before marriage and all prop erty acquired during marriage by gift or inheritance. There fore, none of the assets that Cambodia Says Viet Ham is Aggressor New Delhi, India (UPI) Cambodia has accused South Viet Nam of aggression in a formal protest to the U.N. George held at his death were community property. If George and Mary lived in Oregon, Mary would have been well protected under the Oregon statutes. She would have "dower" rights in the real property held by George which would entitle her to the right to possess one half of the realty for the rest of her life. She would also be entitled to one-fourth of the personalty that George owned at his death. In Oregon, a husband (or wife) can not completely disinherit his spouse. If a husband and wife want to hold property as ''communi ty property" they can get most of the characteristics of that type of ownership by having real property conveyed to them as "tenants by the entireties" and receiving per sonal property as joint own ers with "right of survior ship." Full Management Although a wife "owns" one-hal of the' community property, her husband has full management and control of the property and can deal with it in many ways without her consent. Community prop erty laws raise many ques tions concerning classification of property as community or separate, increase the com plexities of taxation, and complicate the rights of par ties when a family moves from the state to state. For these reasons the Ore gon legislature has refused to enact communty property leg islation except , for a -short period when community prop erty states enjoyed certain federal income tax benefits. Earlier last week, outgoing Premier Sim Var announced from the capital of Pnom Penh that troops from neigh boring South Viet Nam. had crossed the border.
