The Synod, closing its 68th annual meeting here, urged that the subject of capital punisnment be studied care fully by individuals "in light of their Christian faith" be fore the fall election when voters will decide on the issue. Oregon's congress ional delegation was praised in an other resultion for efforts to protect rights of Klamath In dians in sale of their property, Study Underway By Central Point Group Central Point The Rev, Paul O. Kroon, pastor of Com munity Bible church, Central Point, will speak on "What God Expects of His Own" at the 11 a.m. worship service Sunday. At the 8 p.m. Wednesday Bible study and prayer hour Mr. Kroon is conducting' study in the types of the tabernacle. The study, for all age groups, is taught with the use of colored slides and is open to the public. Religious Canvass of Table Rock Vicinity A religious canvass of the homes in the Table Rock area will start Sunday by three countrv churches in the vicinity, it was reported re cently. The canvass will con tinue through the following Sunday, July 6. The canvass will be snon sored by the Sunday school departments of the churches and the information obtained will be made available to the other ministers in the valley, it was reported. Fred Kitterman, Eagle Scout and Roaring Rogue Dis trict chairman, who repre sented National Council, Boy Scouts of America, made the presentation to Mrs. Rauber, who in turn pinned the badge on her son. Rauber began in Scouting as a Cub Scout in 1950, and is now a junior assistant Scoutmaster. A holder of the American Legion Scholastic award, he has shown active leadership in school affairs. Represent ing Illinois Valley High school in the 1956 forensic speaking tournament in Ashland, he re ceived the highest rating awarded in the debating events. Active in sports, he also has been a member of the stud ent council since his high school leadership began. He was valedictorian of his sen ior graduating class. . Jim Burch, son of Mr. and Mrs.' Bill Burch, received the life badge. McCullough of Medford, who died Sunday while on a fam ily picnic at Union Creek, and Mrs. McCullough were well known here, where they were frequent visitors at the home of her father, Frank H. Ward. As late as Saturday, the day preceding his death, they were here, and Mr. McCul lough helped Ward do some work on his home. Mrs. Henley Clawson and Mrs. Loren Cummins attend ed Mr. McCulloughV funeral in Medford on Thursday.
