Representatives of the Med ford district will conduct tours of the project areas this week for potential bidders. A trip to the Butte Falls project area is planned for Thursday, June 19, and a trip tp the Chase mountain areas ii planned for Friday. All persons interested in either of these trips are asked to meet ts the Medford district office in the Medford city hall at 8:30 a.m. on the designated days. Youngblood stated that the bids for these projects are to be submitted to the area of fice of the BLM in Portland. They cannot be received at the local office. Any inquiries con cerning these projects will be welome at the Medford dis trict office. representative, said that, in most cases, such a widow's benefit payments are related to the basic pay of a service man whose rank and years of service are the same as those of the deceased veteran. Cox pointed out the new military pay bill does not in crease basic pay of all service men; thus it will not effect survivor benefit payments to all widows whose veteran hus bands died of service-connected causes. Since each case must be individually examined, it will take several months to adjust accounts of all widows en titled to increased payments. Widows already on VA rolls need take no action to receive any increase to which the new law may entitle them. It will be paid automatically, Cox emphasized, and will be retroactive to June 1. The agency urged widows not to write to VA about their cases. Widows receiving VA pension for the nonser vicelconnected deaths of their husbands are not' affected in any way by the new law, Cox added.
