A charming Swedish exchange student, Miss Margareta Larsdotter-Aulin, was elected queen of the 1958 Junior Prom at Medford High school
last week by her fellow students. Miss Aulin, who' received her crown of white carnations from David Frohnmayer, president of the Associated
Student Body, is pictured here with her princesses and their escorts on the -modernistic throne ramp which was keyed to the Prom theme, "Things

Harold Sexton (center) Junior class president and chairman of the Prom, brought Miss Susie Moore
to the dance and before going into the gymnasium left her wrap with Pat McLaughlin, Sophomore
class president, who ran the checking room. Chairman Hal was worrjed students might .not (ike the
space-age decorations; was relieved to hear them praised.

A church-sponsored banquet was given at the Red Cross building on Prom night, and among the
students attending were (left to right) Miss Evelyn Klutsenbecker, Friends church; Miss Bobbie Jean
Hale, First Baptist; Nick Stansfield, Assembly of God; Nick.de Place, First Baptist and Miss Elaine
Kroon, Community Bible church. Central Point. Rainbows ending in pots of gold decorated the
tables; favors were little 'gold foil cups filled with coins.

Pretty Queen Margareta used President Dave's shoulder as a brace, while she auto
graphed programs; Dave held queen's bouquet of white carnations which matched
her crown and simple frock of nylon dotted Swiss embroidered with little pink rose
buds. Queen Margareta's date, for the Prom was Frank Albert. The popular Swedish
girl will leave the last of June for her home town of Falun.

At a party given on Prom night by Foursquare Gospel church to honor seniors,
Michael Edwards, Grants Pass, had but one crown for two heads when it was dis- .
covered that Miss Nancy Haas (at left) and Miss Naomi Durham were tied in a con
test to choose the queen. LeRoy Tillery, Grants Pass,was king of the party, held at ;.
Girls Community club and attended by more than 60 students.
Sophomore girls serving punch and attending to other Junior Prom duties wore
perky ballerina costumes. Serving punch are (at left) Mavis Strom and Margie
Wonderly. Arriving for refreshments just at the right moment were Mike Bauer (at
left) and Charles Rowan. '
