The Democratic plan was defeated by a roll call vote of 222 to 164. Rhee Casts Ballot In Korean Election Seoul (IP) The Republic of Korea's President Syngman Rhee was among the first of nine million voters to cast his ballot today in an election testing whether he will retain control of the National Assembly. Polls opened at 3 p.m. (PST) Thursday for the 12 hour bal loting. Results were expected to be known Sunday. Rhee's Liberal Party was exnected to win a substantial majority of the 233 Assembly seats. But a controlling two- thirds majority for the Liber als was in doubt. The national elections were the fourth in the history of the 10-year old republic.
