Superior Judge Alfred E. Paonessa Wednesday granted the 34-year-old blonde a final decree of an interlocutory di vorce approved July 25, 1956. The couple went back to gether last December, but Judge Paonessa accepted their statements that it was a "con ditional" reconciliation and granted the final decree. Karl stirred his wife's story that, she was kidnaped in 1957 into new life last month with an announcement of his intentions of divorcing the,' beauty if she didn't get a de cree first. - Miss McDonald fired back from Cincinnati, Ohio, near where she was making a nightclub appearance, that Karl had "engineered" her ab duction from her Encino home in January of last year. She said she learned of Karl's alleged part in her ab duction by paying two kid napers $5,000. Later, back in Los Angeles facing a possible new grand jury prob,e into her story of kidnaping, the actress ad mitted she had lied about Karl's part. Karl filed for divorce March 19, but Miss McDon ald moved to have the 1956 decree made final. Lana's New Movie Well Received New York API Sneak previews oi L.ana ixirners newest motion picture indi cate she has the moviegoing public on her side, producer Joseph Kaufman said today. "We ran previews of An other Time, Another Place around town and when Lana's name appeared on screen, there was tremendous ap plause," Kaufman told the United Press. Because of publicity sur rounding the fatal stabbing Miss Turner's lover, Johnny Stompanato, by her 14-year-old daughter, the picture is being rushed into distribution three months ahead of sched ule. It will begin playing in key cities next month instead of late August, Kaufman said. The story line has more than average meaning today for Miss Turner, said the pro ducer. In the picture. Miss Turner plays the part of an American writer in wartime London who falls in love with a BBC correspondent. The boyfriend, played by Seafi Conery, is killed in a plane crash. "The idea of the story is to show that women must not live with their memories. They must go on with their lives after the death of a loved one," said Kaufman. NEW HOMES LARGE or SMALL F. W.
