Lana's New Movie
Well Received
New York API Sneak
previews oi L.ana ixirners
newest motion picture indi
cate she has the moviegoing
public on her side, producer
Joseph Kaufman said today.
"We ran previews of An
other Time, Another Place
around town and when Lana's
name appeared on screen,
there was tremendous ap
plause," Kaufman told the
United Press.
Because of publicity sur
rounding the fatal stabbing
Miss Turner's lover, Johnny
Stompanato, by her 14-year-old
daughter, the picture is
being rushed into distribution
three months ahead of sched
ule. It will begin playing in
key cities next month instead
of late August, Kaufman said.
The story line has more
than average meaning today
for Miss Turner, said the pro
ducer. In the picture. Miss
Turner plays the part of an
American writer in wartime
London who falls in love with
a BBC correspondent. The
boyfriend, played by Seafi
Conery, is killed in a plane
crash.
"The idea of the story is to
show that women must not
live with their memories. They
must go on with their lives
after the death of a loved
one," said Kaufman.
