In an unprecedented broad cast over the rebel radio, Cas tro said the past, present and only aim oi his movement is to overthrow the Batista regime. As the rebel leader spoke, figures circulating here indi cated that the 24-hour toll of Castro's six - day - old revolt would amount to about 140 dead. Topping the list of the Mail Tribune's carriers for the month of March is Eugene Vincent who has been delivering Route 30 in South Medford to his 120 customers for the past year and a half. Fourteen-year-old Eugene likes his job even though it is the tough est route in Medford. He is always courteous, pleasant and anxious to please says his customers and they, in return for his excellent service, keep him busy during his odd hours by letting him mow their lawns and stack their wood for extra money that- he is saving for his college expenses. In the eight grade at McLaughlin Jr. High School, Eugene Is a top student and has a strong interest in Biology and hopes someday, to become a Biologist. ' Eugene lives with his mother and two younger brothers and helps out at home while his mother does sewing, ironing and takes care of children during the day to meet their expenses. When he is not delivering his route or studying, Eugene pursues his hobbies of stamp collecting and building bicycles. His stamp col lection is a large one, consisting of several large albums which are complete. He is mechanically inclined and uses this ability by build ing bicycles out of spare parts. He built two for his younger brothers last Christmas, both of which, look exactly like new ones. Eugene likes to read Science books dealing with Biological sub jects and automobiles. He has hopes that someday he will be able to build a car out of spare parts like he does his bicycles. "I also like to hunt and fish," says Eugene, "but do not have too much time for it and I want to keep my route as long as I can so that I can have enough money saved for college."
