Several com- b i n e d community services will be also held with the public invited to attend any of the services. lne sunrise services are listed below and are not in eluded in the church directory listings. Medford Interchurch Youth Council The annual service will be held Sunday at Hu ener's Butte at 6 a.m. near Jacksonville. Approximately 12 churches have indicated that they will participate. The service will begin with a bugle salute to the dawn played by Dave Frohnmayer, Bob Sheldon, and Ted Law son, all from the First Pres byterian church, Medford. Miss Joan Laurila, First Meth odist church, will be worship leader. Miss Melody Pierce, Church of Christ, will be organist and Miss Rosemary Doolen, First .Methodist church, will lead the singing. Scripture will be read by Don MacKintosh, Phoenix, First Presbyterian. A sextet from the First Christ ian church will sing "Love Led Him to Calvary." "The Importance of Easter Today" will be the topic for the two talks by Lynn La tham, First Christian church, and Dick Corum, First Pres byterian church. Huener's Butte may be reached by traveling west on West Main st. and south on Arnold lane to Bellinger lane. Signs will be posted to direct persons to the service from there. St Peter Evangelical Luth eran church The congrega tion will sponsor the sunrise service at the Star-lite Drive- in theatre at 6 a.m. Sunday. The Rev. Kenneth Korby, pas tor of the congregation, will speak. Music for the service will include recorded music by the church choirs and Mrs. Clif ford McGinty will be soloist. As in previous years a free will offering will be received. The amount will be divided equally between the Interna-1 tional Lutheran hour and the Oregon Easter seals for crip pled children. St. Mark's Episcopal church Sunrise choral Eucharist will be held Sunday at 6:30 a.m. at the church. Salvation Army The an nual service and Easter break fast will be held at the Salva tion Army shelter, Crews rd., Sunday, starting at 5:30 ajn. The breakfast will be held at 6:30 a.m. Speakers will be Sr. Major and Mrs. Charles Cox, divisional secretaries for Ore gon and southern Idaho. Ascension Lutheran church The 6:30 ajn. Sunday serv ice will be held at the church at 2501 Barnett rd., Medford. Members of the young peo ple's Luther league will assist. Richard Melum will sing "Open the Gates of the Tem ple" and Warren Olson will be organist. Friends church Sunrise service will be held at 5:45 a.m. on the hill behind the J. W. Smith home on Old riitai at 8:30 BIBLE The Chancel Choir will present a CANTATA at 7:30 p.m. County Stage rd. Don Chjtwood, soph omore at George Fox college, Newberg, will be the speaker. Following the service high school and college young peo ple will attend a breakfast at the Smith residence. First Baptist church The high school young people of the church will sponsor a sunrise service on Old Mili tary rd. It is suggested that persons meet at the church, Central at Fifth sts., at 5:30 a.m. and proceed to the serv ice together. Russell C a r r, layman of the church, will speak. Church of the Brethren Sunrise services will be held on Roxy Ann at 6 a.m. Easter Sunday. Immediately follow in the service breakfast will be served in the church din ing hall, 345 North Mary st. Zion Lutheran church Services will start at 6 a.m. at the church, Fourth and Oak- dale ave., with the Rev. G. H. Hillerman, pastor speaking on "Jesus is Raised the Christ." Central Point Sunrise service will be held at Wel man's quarry on Old Military rd. at 6 a.m. Sunday. The Rev. Kenneth Arnold, pastor of the Phoenix Church of Christ, will be guest speaker for the service. Persons at tending should meet at the Central Point Church of Christ at 5:35 a.m. Community Bible church Sunrise meditation and com munion service will be held at 6:30 a.m. in the sanctuary of the church at Fourth and Alder sts., Central Point. Eagle Point Sunrise serv ices at 5:45 a.m. will be held Sunday at the Floyd Pollack residence, Brownsboro rd., by the Eagle Point Community Bible church. The Rev. Jo seph J. Munshaw is pastor of the church. '4 Ashland Community sun rise service will be held at 6 a.m. Sunday at the Lithia Park band shell, Ashland. The Rev. R. L. Cornwall, minister of Assembly of God church, Ashland, will preach. The Valley Choraliers, a male chorus of men from Rogue Valley area, will sing. Organized last fall under the direction of Louis O. Clay son of Southern Oregon col lege music department, the chorus is sponsored by the Ashland Lions club. Also sing ing at the service will be the Ashland Senior High school girls' sextet. Gold Hill Services will be held at 6 a.m. at the cross on the hill behind the Church in the Pinestwo miles south of Gold Hill on Old Pacific highway, Sunday. The Rev. Delbert W. Casey, pastor, will speak. Prospect Community East er sunrise services will be held on the knoll northeast of Death curve near Prospect, starting at 6:15 ajn. The Rev. Dorian Woods, the Rev. Boyd Powers, the Rev. Gerald Gardner, and the Rev. W. B. MacHenry will 'be in charge of the service. Mr. Woods will speak. Breakfast will be served at FIRST CHRISTIAN CHURCH a.m. and at 11:00 a.m SCHOOL at 9:45 a.m. Ministerial Association Meet Set for Tuesday The monthly meeting of the Medford Ministerial asso ciation will be held Tuesday, April 8, at 10 a.m. in the fire place room at the First Pres byterian church. Following the business meeting the program will start at 11 a.m. The associa tion meetings are open to min isters of all denominations and churches in the area. First Christian Tells Activities At both morning worship services at First Christian church, the Rev. W. C. Piper will preach on "Love's Tri umph." Mrs. Ralph Matlack will sing, "I Know That My Redeemer Liveth" and the choir will sing "Resurrection Bells." The 30-voice choir of . the church will present the Easter cantata, "The Glory of East er," at 7:30 p.m. Sunday. A reception will be given in hon or of the choir immediately following the presentation in the Fellowship hall. A demonstration of the va cation Bible school material that will be used at the school will be given by the Evangel Center, Monday, 7:30 p.m. at the First Baptist church. Miss Eleanor Bower, Miss Oveta Walden, Miss Priscilla Shafer and Lynn Seger will leave next Friday for junior senior preview at Northwest Christian college in Eugene. All families of the church are invited to the potluck din ner Friday, April 11, at 6:30 p.m. at the church. Miss Ruth Peterson, missionary, on fur lough from her first term as a missionary in Africa, will speak. x Gold Hill Church To Hove Early Service Gold Hill Easter sunrise services will be , held at 6 a.m. at the cross on the hill hehind the Church in the Pines, two miles south of Gold Hill on Old Pacific Highway, Sunday. Sundav school will be held at 10 a.m. that morning fol lowed by the regular worship hour at 11 a.m. An Easter egg hunt will be held for the children at 12:15 p.m. follow ed by a basket picnic lunch at 1 p.m. The public is invited to at tend the afternoon and eve ning services. Jesse Leise, soloist and song leader, will start in Medford Sunday, April 27, at 2:30 p.m. at the Medford high school auditorium. The cru sade will continue through May 4. The meetings will be spon sored by the First Baptist, Friends, Assembly of God, Bethel Assembly of God, Free Methodist, Ghurch of the Brethren, Pilgrim Holiness, and Medford Community churches in Medford, the Cen tral Point Community Bible church, Eagle Point Commun ity Bible church, and the White City Berean Baptist church. The Rev. Paul O. Kroon, pastor of the Central Point Community Bible church, is chairman of, tfle Crusade. Dr. Gesswein has conduct ed meetings throughout the United States and Canada and was a member of the Billy Graham New York team. Sponsoring churches will announce the Crusade Sun day with an insert in the church bulletins. A ladies trio will sing "He Reigns." Sunday is "Missionary Sun-' day." The Bible school depart ment will contribute to the Northern California, South ern Oregon Evangelistic Fel lowship, to help establish new churches." The Bible school class with the best average for the month will receive the Bible banner. Sunday evening a colored film, entitled "Far From Alone," will be shown. Tuesday, April 8, the wo men of the Church of Christ will meet at the home of Mrs. Kenneth Arnold, 209 Pine, Phoenix, to start a "Mission ary Study Group." The pur pose of this group will be to aid Christian Missionary causes. The youth of the church will join the youth of the Church of Christ in Central Point for a sunrise service Easter. They will meet at the Central Point Church of Christ, Third and Oak sts. at 5:35 a.m. The speaker will be the Rev. Phoenix Church To Celebrate Easter Phoenix The First Baptist Church, Phoenix, will observe the first birthdav of its new auditorium as it commemor ates the Easter celebration Sunday. The pastor will speak at 11 a.m. on the Theme, "Sci ence and the Resurrection." The ' evening sermon theme will be, "The Resurrection. Spot-lights Eternity." Special music will be under the direc tion of C E. Findley, chorist er, and Mrs. E. W. Kimmons, pianist. CHRISTIAN WORKERS The Rev. John Ilg visited the Young Christian Workers meeting Friday evening. The group will not meet tonight due to the lateness of Good Friday service at Sacred Heart Catholic church. Church of Christ Announces Schedule "He Is Risen" will be the sermon topic Sunday at 11 a. m. at Central Church of Christ, 608 North Central ave. The Rev. Dexter Wil liams, minister, will speak. Sunday evening the local church will attend services at the Church of Christ, Phoenix. A temperance film, "Far From Alone" will be shown. The Rev. E. Gilbert Cays, evangelist, will conduct the meetings. He is a former minister of the Central Point Church of Christ, and has spent several years as a mis sionary in Canada.
