The soldier joined the serv ice in 1945 under the alias of Alva L. Spivey. He deserted at Camp Roberts, Calif., a year later. Five months later he re- enlisted in the Army under his real name, Stormy Knight, ana served four years in Korea before being honorably discharged. Last week he surrendered voluntarily and toldNhis story. The Pentagon must now de cide whether to court martial Knight, or give Spivey an ad ministrative discharge to clear the books. But in the meantime, he was told to go home to his wife and seven children in Alviso, Calif., until the Army can make up its mind. Italy Communists Eye Lost Members Rome (IP) Italy's Commu nists voiced hope today of re gaining the 200,000 members they admitted losing last year in the party's worst postwar crisis. A communique published today in the party organ L'Unita said 1,713,000 persons or 94.1 per cent of last year's memberships had renewed their party cards 50,000 more than the number of cards issued the same time last year. Master Ed Houston in the master's chair. Mrs. Isabel Wanderlic was elected to be a member of the Grange. In the absence of the agri culture chairman, Mrs. Sara Strother, who is also on the committee, reported that the HEC of the Grange and the Garden club are preparing to plant another plot of flowers in front of the Oaks Court. Edmund, of the water resources division of the geological survey, Med ford, has received a $100 cash award under the department of interior's incentive awards program, the department has announced.
