Iver sen, 527 North Bartlett street, became the bride of George Leland Sprague, son of Mr and Mrs. Mahlon Sprague, Route 3, Box 69, Medford, in a ceremony held Saturday, January 18, at Apostolic Faith church. The Rev. Norman A. Allen, pastor of Apostolic Faith church, San Francisco, offici ated at the seven o'clock eve ning wedding attended by 280 relatives tnd friends. Baskets of white chrysanthemums and stock decorated the church for the ceremony. Mrs. Robert M. James played the piano wed ding music, Mrs. Norman R. Allen was violinist and Arthur E. Friesen was soloist. - Given in marriage by her b r o t h e r-in-law, John C. Baugh, Burns, the bride wore a white taffeta frock fash ioned with flared skirt, three quarter length sleeves and Peter Pan collar. Her finger tip length veil was held by a cluster of blue flowers and she carried white chrysanthe mums with white roses and maidenhair fern. : Miss Grace E. Andrews was honor attendant. She wore a pale pink taffeta frock simi lar to the bride's and pink flowers in her hair. She car ried white carnations and fern. Mahlon E. Sprague served as best man for his brother and Ralph E. Following the ceremony a reception was held at 831 Ni- antic street. Mrs. Melvin Frost, Grants Pass, and Mrs. Robert Myers, cut and served the cake and Mrs. John Baugh and Mrs. Stella Teel poured the punch. Mrs. Benny Kin ney, sister of the bridegroom, was in charge of the guest book. The Rev. Loyce Carver, pastor of the Medford Apos tolic Faith church, Mrs. Mah lon E. Sprague, and Mrs. Flor ence Renaker were at the gift table. For the wedding trip to the Oregon coast the bride chose for her traveling attire a red silk dress with gray coat and black and red accessories. The newlyweds are making their home in Medford. The bride is a graduate of Medford High school and is employed as a clerk-stenog rapher by the United States Forest Service at the Rogue River National Forest office here. Mr. Sprague attended Medford schools and is em ployed by Medford Veneer and Plywood corporation. Central a ffj r. a Sunday, February 2, 1953 Causes Leading To Delinquency Studied by PTA Eagle Point Contributing factors to juvenile delin quency are the lack of a planned program between parent and child, negligence in communication between them, and dissension in the home, according to Lawrence Tweedy, boys counselor for the Jackson County Juvenile department. Other contribut ing factors found among local cases, included the access to and the universal use of the automobile by youth, both parents working and habitu ally overtired, and the lack of supervision at home. Mr. Tweedy was guest speaker at the January meet- ' mg of the Eagle Point Ele ! mentary Parent-Teacher asso : ciation, and went over the en- ure proceaure irom xne Time of apprehension of a juvenile, step by step, through to the court hearing and decision. He explained that the juve niles were much more co operative in the present sur roundings of the new deten tion' home, and told of the im portant part the Jackson County PTA units played in securing the county home. The sixth grades of Mrs. Ray Barrow and David Har bison presented a skit on safety. The students prepared and directed the skit them' selves. A round table discussion on report cards had been sched uled, but due to the lateness of the hour, it was postponed and planned for the February meeting. Mrs. Selby's first grade room won the count for the highest number of parents present at the meeting. The fifth grade students of Mrs. Pomeroy, Mrs. Hill and Mrs. McKee made the name tags; Richard Anderson led the flag salute; and refreshments were served by mothers of students in the fifth grade.
