Oppenheimer Let's hear no more nonsense about our Hollywood film stars being pampered and spoiled! They are a virile, rugged, nail-hard group. Just ask any survivors of the location company which recently filmed "The Vikings" in Hardangerfjord, a section of Norway so isolated even a subpoena server couldn't have found it. The intrepid movieland troupe in cluded Kirk Douglas, Tony Curtis, Er nest Borgnine, and Janet Leigh. Douglas deserves less sympathy than the others because his producing company helped pick the unlivable, unpronounceable location site. True, Hardangerfjord was beautiful and authentic. But the cast and crew spent most of their time tramping through mud while rain and fog played havoc with their cashmeres. Yet nobody complained not violent ly. "The Vikings," after all, is based on the adventures of those fearless Norse men of old who conquered Europe and sailed small craft to North America five centuries before Columbus.
