o o O Farmero Caught On Horns 0$ Inflation Washington W Farmers ' were caught on the horns of in ' flation during the month eoding Nov. 15. Their commodities brought more but their expenses bit an all-time high. ' As a result, they broke about even on the cost-priee rise and the farm parity. ration remained fixed at 81 per cent the same as the previous month and a j'ear g- 0 Parity is the price needed to put commodities sold by farmers on a par with the cost of things . they must pay theoretically fair return for their product. Costs Up Decimal Farmers costs for commodi ties, services, interest, taxes nd farm wages jumped sevn tenths of one per cent for the month to a record high, accord ing to the Agriculture Depart ment's monthly price report. The report indicated farm costs rose three per cent wer the past 12 months. This increase largest advances were recorded for new automobiles and cloth inj, but retail prices of house hold furnishings also rose mod rately from mid-October. Average hog prices for the month were S16.70 per hundred weight compared with S16.90 in Mid-October and $14.30 a year ago. Average beef cattle prices were $17.30 per hundredweight, compared with $17.30 a month ago and $14.50 a year ago. The in crease was paced by higher prices for meat pnimels, vege tables, poultry and eggs. This was partly offset by decreases in prices for cotton, fe4, grains and tobacco. They are the same Se O attle attorneys who defended Beck's son, Dave Beck Jr., on similar charges two weeks ago. Beck Jr. was found giulty. The younger Beck was con victed of grand larceny involv ing the sale of two other teamsters-owned Cadillacs. Burdell has started appeal proceedings in the case.
