WATSON Shady Cove-Trail The Shady Cove PTA is sponsoring a va riety show Saturday evening, Nov. 23, with the various clubs and organizations in the commu nity putting on skits, dance num bers and acts to make up the show. Admission will be 50 cents for adults and 25 cents for chil dren. A door prize will be given. Tickets are on sale from PTA members and members of other organizations in the community. This event will be the one large money raising project put on this year by the Shady Cove PTA The Bloodmobile will visit the Shady Cove-Trail area Tues day, Dec. 10 between the hours of 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. at the VFW Post hall. Chairman for the sur rounding communities will be named shortlj and donors for blood will be contacted. Anyone wishing to donate blood may contact the chairman of their community, according to Mrs. Eva Segessenman, over-all chair man of this project. Newcomers to Shady Cove are Mr. and Mrs. Richard Houghton of Los Angeles, who have bought the property and house from Mr. and Mrs. Atkinson ly ing next to the Gus Olson's. Since last Saturday only three official sightings have been re ported to the observatory all from Sydney, Australia. Dr. J. Allen Hynek, associ ate director of the observatory, said the object seen was Alpha I or Sputnik I's rocket. He add ed that all the sighting reports described it as a "bright object." The observation reports came to moon watch headquarters through the Naval Research Laboratory in Washington. The Russian satellites will not be visible in the United States until some time next month, ac cording to the experts. Identity of the rocket was not immediately known, but it was j believed to be another Bomarc ground to air missile like the one fired Thursday. It was not the Atlas interconti nental ballistic missile, which is believed being readied for a third firing. The projectile zoomed up into an almost clear sky, then disap peared into the one cloudbank in the area at about 5,000 to 6,000 feet. holiday gift list!
