The second trip in three week's time is announced for Sunday, November 10, and will be made in the Cobleigh road area towards Butte Falls. "There are several unusually delicious varieties of mushrooms to be found this time of year in the woods and meadows," states Fred Lawrence, of the club. '.'According to Dr. Alexander H. November 9. The pro gram will be at Medford High school; curtain time is 8 p.m. The two dancers first met at the Budapest Opera Ballet school, later went to Russia where they were widely acclaimed and in 1953. when scheduled to appear in East Germany, escaped to the Western Sector and eventually made their way to the United Stales. Medford Mail Tribune Talent Council Sponsors Dances Talent A series of dances will be held at the Talent City hall beginning November 9 at 8:30 p.m. The dances are to be sponsored by Talent City coun cil, and the money will go to the building fund. Dances will be held every second and fourth Saturday night. Square, circle and round danc ing are planned, and Frances Cronin will serve as caller. Refreshments will be potluck, and women attending are asked to take sandwiches, cakes or salads. Coffee will be served by Talent Lions' club. . . All women interested in the group are invited to the event, which will be from 3 to 4:30 p.m. in the new Red Cross build ing on Hawthorne avenue. Mrs. Hugh B. Collins, presi dent, said that the group is especially anxious that all of the original 70 charter members at tend. Personal invitations to the early members are not possible because membership records for that period have been lost, she said. The study of "our government in Jackson county" is the local item of work . for the league; revision of the state constitution is the state item; and conserva tion of water resources and evaluation of the federal loyalty security programs, the national items. Members working with each topic are preparing visual aids, for Saturday's tea and also will be present to provide other in formation. Past presidents who will be honored at the affair are Mrs. Justin Smith, Mrs. Stephen G. Nye, Mrs. S. E. Phillips, Mrs. Frank Fairweather, Mrs. R. S. Hinman, Mrs. John Langston, and Mrs. Robert Hiatt. Seventy charter members founded the Medford League in June, 1939. Second Session Of Study Group Set For Sunday A group studying the current year's interdenominational home mission study "Christ, the Church and Race" will hold its second session in the library room of First Methodist church at 5:30 p.m., Sunday, November 10. The Rev. George Trobough will pre sent "the involvement of local churches. This study course will con tinue for six Sunday sessions un der the leadership of the Rev. Mr. Trobough, who is cooperat ing with the Woman's Society of Christian Service in presenting the course. The text being used is titled "The Kingdom Beyond Caste" which was written by Liston Pope, dean of Yale Uni versity Divinity school. Consideration is given to such basic questions as: What are the housing and employment oppor tunities for Negroes and other minority groups? Is it true, as has been charged, that the hour between' eleven and twelve on Sunday morning is the most seg regated hour of the week? The film titled "Prejudice" will be shown during the coming study hour. , The study group is open to both men and women. Interested persons from all churches are in vited to attend and to participate in the sessions. Bridge Tourney Opening Tonight Camp White First session of a mixed pairs duplicate bridge tournament will be held to night at Camp White under the sponsorship of Camp White Vet erans' Bridge club. The second session will be November 15. For last week's play, Mr. and Mrs. M. T. Coode, Wilderville, Ore., were guests. Refreshments were served by Mrs. Berg Mar ten and Mrs. Jack Mitchell.
