Portland Firm Given License Plate Contract Salem HP Irwin-Hodson Company, Portland, today was awarded a S141.000 contract to furnish license plates and plate inserts to the Department of Mo tor Vehicles this year and next. The contract was about $12, 000 over cost of the 1956 plates. Irwin-Hodson was the only company to submit bids al though the finance department invited four organizations to sub mit bids for the plates. The property, which includes house, implement shed and barns as well as the acreage, has been owned by Mr. and Mrs. Broeffle since 1951.
