Daughters of the American Revolution, Saturday. October 26. James A. Johnson wil speak on "Our Med ford High School." Several members will contrast the pre sent schools with those they at tended. The meeting will start at 2 p.m. with Mrs. C. O. Lovejoy as host ess. She will be assisted by Mrs. V. J. Bolton, Mrs. Jesse C. Long and Mrs. Carl Oestreich. World Day Program Announced Centered around the theme "Bread. Freedom and Dignity" the annual World Community day program of Medford Coun cil of United Church Women will be held in First Methodist church Friday, November 1. The morning program will open at 10 a.m. with a business session and election of officers. Mrs. Samuel Earhart. second vice-president, will preside. A covered dish luncheon will be served at noon with women of the various churches provid ing salads, hot dishes and des sert enough for their own group plus two extra. Methodist wom en will serve coffee, rolls, jelly and pickles. Mrs. Wilbur Arnold, chairman for the afternoon program, has announced that musical num bers and a speaker will follow the installation of officers. Sev eral ministers of the valley will assist throughout the day in de votional services. Clothing for overseas will be received and dedicated. Those bringing articles are asked to package warm clothing in me dium or small size cardboard boxes well tied for shipment. All interested persons are in vited to attend the day's activi- i ties, it is announced by Council officers. A nursery will be maintained for small children. Now fashion carries weight in the bathroom. A new scale is on the market a scale design ed to add glamor to heavy duty. The scale is carpeted in a deep pile fabric in shades ranging from pink mink to mutation gray. Gold Hill Lodge Approves Donation Gold Hill Members of Ame thyst Rebekah lodge approved a cash donation for the annual home fall festival for the bene fit of the Odd Fellows Home in Portland, at a meeting Wednes day evening in the "local Odd Fellows hall. Mrs. Lester Park er, noble grand, presided. Dur ing this festival, lodges through out the state have an opportu nity to make voluntary contri butions to the food supply for the home. Plans were made to attend Friendship night at Hope Rebe kah lodge in Ashland. October 22 at 8 p.m. Members planning to go are asked to contact Mrs. Paul Thompson for arrange ments. First nomination of officers was held. Mrs. Wilmer Bailey was nominated for noble grand; Mrs. Paul Molloy, treasurer Mrs. Paul Thompson, recording secretary; and Mrs. Cecil John son, financial secretary.
