Runaway Girls Two 17-year- old girls were reported missing from home since 8:30 p.m. Mon day in Ashland today. Their par ents called city police at about 1:30 asa. to report the missing girls. Accident A truck driven by Robert William Sieler, 10720 Northeast Tillamook st., Port land, was involved in a collision with a car driven by Alice Hum phry, route 1, box 430V&, Satur day noon. Police said the acci dent took place at Fourth and Central sts. Battery Stolen Jack Ray Sides, 926 Murry st., reported to police Saturday that a car bat tery was taken from a 1950 car while it was parked at the rear of the Rogue Service station, 609 West McAndrews rd. The Saturday accident took place about 10:05 p.m. Boys' Arrested Central Point police arrested Arnold Gene Pence, 19, of 604 Berrydale ave., and a 17-year-old boy about noon yesterday for fighting and caus ing a disturbance on a Central Point street. The en gine is being overhauled after it was forced to exceed 110 miles per hour to catch the juvenile Tail Lights Taken Peter Calvin Lorenz, 1940 Kincaid st., Eugene, reported to police Mon day that the tail lights had been removed from his 1957 car while it was parked near Sixth and Main sts. The lights, valued at $10, were taken Saturday night, according to police. Receives Two Citations Leo Franklin Barker, 25, 3075 Cra ter Lake highway, was cited by city police for reckless driving and having no operator's permit on his person. Shepherd, 53, of 132 Green way circle, will be held at Perl Funeral home at s, 1:30 pjn. Thursday. The Rev. D. Kirkland West, pastor of the First Pres byterian church,, will officiate, and concluding private services will be held at Siskiyou crema torium. Mr. Shepherd died unexpect edly in Medford Monday. He was born Dec. 9, 1903, in Provi dence, R.I., and attended the University of Oregon and North western university college of law. He had lived in Medford for about 20 years. Fraternity Member Mr. Shepherd was a member of Chi Psi social fraternity, Del ta Theta Phi law fraternity, the Oregon State Bar and the Foot- lighters Little Theater group. He was a former member of the University club and the board of directors of the Jackson coun ty cnapter of American Red Cross. He is survived by his wife, Loleta: two sons. Robert W. Shepherd III, and Richard Ed ward Shepherd; and a brother, ueorge Austin Shepherd, of walnut Creek, Calif. Active pallbearers will be Ben r. Lombard, Warren Lessee. Ivan Jeanne, 22, were taken by Medford Ambulance service to Sacred Heart hospital for treat ment. Police said Wright suffer ed a broken shoulder and other injuries, and Mrs. Weiler suf fered lacerations. Weiler was cited by state po lice for failure to stop at a stop sign. ' Jump Fane Ella Lucile Wil son, 1316 Steward ave., reported to city police Monday morning that someone had jumped the locked fence surrounding the Wilson Distributing company parking lot and opened the back of one of the loaded trucks. In vestigation showed three cases of beer, valued at $9.90, had been taken. The theft took place about 4 a.m. on Monday morn ing, Mrs.-Wilson told police. MABEL HAMILTON Funeral services for Mrs. Ma bel E. Hamilton, 42, of 798 Gar den way, Ashland, who died in Redding Saturday, will be held in the Conger-Morris chapel at 2:30 p.m. Thursday. -The Rev. D. E. N Millard will officiate. Committal will be in Central Point cemetery. Mrs. Hamilton was born in Las Vegas, N.M., July 12, 1915. She moved to southern Oregon 24 years ago and for the past 3Vi years lived in Ashland. On Aug 30, 1951, she was married to Alvin G.. Hamilton, who sur vives.
