torium. Mr. Shepherd died unexpect
edly in Medford Monday. He
was born Dec. 9, 1903, in Provi
dence, R.I., and attended the
University of Oregon and North
western university college of
law. He had lived in Medford
for about 20 years.
Fraternity Member
Mr. Shepherd was a member
of Chi Psi social fraternity, Del
ta Theta Phi law fraternity, the
Oregon State Bar and the Foot-
lighters Little Theater group.
He was a former member of the
University club and the board
of directors of the Jackson coun
ty cnapter of American Red
Cross.
He is survived by his wife,
Loleta: two sons. Robert W.
Shepherd III, and Richard Ed
ward Shepherd; and a brother,
ueorge Austin Shepherd, of
walnut Creek, Calif.

that someone had jumped the

vestigation showed three cases of
beer, valued at $9.90, had been
taken. The theft took place
about 4 a.m. on Monday morn
ing, Mrs.-Wilson told police.

Redding Saturday, will be held

Point cemetery.
Mrs. Hamilton was born in
Las Vegas, N.M., July 12, 1915.
She moved to southern Oregon
24 years ago and for the past 3Vi
years lived in Ashland. On Aug
30, 1951, she was married to
Alvin G.. Hamilton, who sur
vives. Also surviving are her par
ents, Mr. and Mrs. Elvie Math
ews, Ono, Calif.; six brothers
and three sisters, Harold and
Howard Mathews, both of Trini
dadj Calif.; James Mathews and
Mrs. Robert Snyder, , Orland,
