Robert Roy Clark is set for this afternoon at First Presbyterian church, was hon ored recently at a shower party. Hostesses were Miss Sara Hart and Miss Jan Smith, two of Miss Newland's attendants. The shower was an evening event at Miss Hart's home on Glen Oak court, and 15 guests attended. Gifts for the bride-to-be were placed binder an um brella edged with fresh flowers. The reception to follow the wedding this afternoon is being held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. G. T. Haupert, 222 Valley View drive. The bride-elect is a daugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. Herman W. Newland. 4 Mr. and Mrs. Walter Rhone of Windemere, Fla., have left Medford after having been guests here of Dr. and Mrs. Frank Unmack, Plaza apart ments. Dr. and Mrs. Unmack are newcomers to the city, hav ing moved here lasj fall from Montana. The Rer. end Mrs. Wade Eaton (Fehly photo) Senator's Daughter Wed To Episcopal Clergyman A wedding which excited interest throughout the nation took place in Eugene last Saturday afternoon, August 31. It was the marriage of Miss Judith Morse, daughter of United States Senator and Mrs. Wayne Morse, to the Rev. Wade Eaton, son of Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Eaton, also Eugene, which was held at St. Mary's Epis copal church at two o'clock. Senator Morse escorted his daughter to the altar and gave her in marriage. The ceremony was read by the Very Rev. Sherman John son, of Church Divinity School of the Pacific, Berkeley, Calif. Guests were from all parts of the state, including a group from Medford. At nine o'clock that morning the couple participated in a nup tial eucharist at the church, with the Rev. Evan Williams of Santa Barbara as celebrant. He was assisted by the Rev. Wil liam Rees as deacon and the Rev. O. Steen Whiteside as sub deacon. The Very Rev. Mr. Johnson also took part as the priest who read the marriage ceremony. A choir of clergymen sang the communion service. The wedding processional was "Praise My Soul, the King of Heaven," which was used at Queen Elizabeth's coronation, and the recessional was "The Trumpet Voluntary." Milton Dietrich was organist. The bride designed her wed ding gown, which was of white shantung, and her crescent shaped headdress. The slim gown was untrimmed except for a fold marking the empire waistline. A panel hung free at the back and extended into a train which served as a support for the lace wedding veil. The veil, of exquisite Naples lace, had been brought from Italy by the senator and presented to his daughter when she was 13 years old. Tiie bride carried white roses and stephanotis on a white shantung-covered prayer book. Her jewelry was an antique gar net cross, a gift from the bride groom, which matched her gar net engagement ring. She also wore garnet pendant ear-rings, an antique garnet hair ornament, a gift from the best man, and a bracelet of twisted Indian gold. Mrs. C. Hugh Campbell Jr., Hartsville, S.C., the former Nan cy Morse, was matron-of-honor for her sister. Miss Amy Morse of Eugene and Chapel Hill, N.C., Mrs. Frank Huckins, Eugene, sister of the bridegroom and Mrs. James Rodgers, the former Jo Tallman and a college friend of the bride, were the other attendants. All the attendants wore iden tical frocks of pink and green wild rose cotton print designed to match the bride's gown. Their headdresses were small veils of pink caught with green velvet bows and they carried white prayer books with sprays of Cecile Brunner rosebuds. All wore matching green slippers. David Parkhurst Kenworthy of The Dalles was best man and ushers were Frank Huckins, Ralph Morse, San Francisco, a cousin of the bride, James Neal, Barrett Jones and William N. Russell. Webb Russell served as crucifer for both the morning and afternoon ceremonies. Mrs. A. F. Tallman, Eugene, family friend, arranged flowers from her own garden for the church and reception decora tions. The reception was held at the Morse family home on Crest drive, with Mrs. Morse receiv ing with the bridal party. The newlyweds spent a hon eymoon on the Oregon coast, the bride wearing for traveling a blue Italian cotton dress fash ioned on princess lines and worn with black and red acces sories. The Rev. and Mrs. Eaton will live at Gardiner, where the bridegroom will be minister for St. Mary's Episcopal church. The bride attended the Uni versity of Oregon and George Washington university. She also studied at Catholic university in Washington, D.C., and the Neighborhood playhouse, New York City. Her sorority is Kap pa Kappa Gamma. The Rev. Mr. Eaton did un dergraduate work at the Uni versity of Oregon and received his divinity degree from Church Divinity School of the Pacific, graduating with honors. Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Richard Morse (Brainerd Photo) Miss Phyllis Archibald Married to Eugene Morse Miss Phyllis Jean Archibald became the bride of Eugene Richard Morse in a ceremony held Saturday, August 31, in the Medford Friends church. Pastor of the church, Clynton G. Cris man, officiated at the double ring ceremony held at eight o'clock in the evening and attended by 100 relatives and friends". The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. M. R. Archibald, 2451 Roberts road, Medford. The bridegroom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. R. N. Morse of Nampa, Idaho. Given in marriage by her fa ther, the bride wore a full length gown of lace and chiffon silk. The fitted bodice was styled with sweetheart neckline and the bouffant skirt was of alter nate tiers of lace and silk. Her elbow length gloves were of matching lace and she carried a white orchid on a white Bible. Mrs. Glenn Archibald was honor attendant while other at tendants were Mrs. James Ar chibald, Willow Creek, Calif., and Mrs. Melvin Archibald, Livermore, Calif., all sisters-in-law of the bride. They wore aquamarine frocks styled on princess lines and carried cas cade bouquets of yellow gladio lus. Little Debbie, Kristine and Allyson Archibald, nieces of the bride, were flower girls. They wore white nylon dotted Swiss frocks with aquamarine sashes and carried baskets of yellow gladiolus blossoms. Candlelight ers were Lary and Gary Smith. Paul Morse of Greenleaf. Idaho, served as best man for his cousin. Melvin Archibald and Peter Archibald, another brother of the bride, Areata, Calif., seated the guests. Groomsmen were Dale Camp bell, cousin of the bridegroom, and Frank Morse, brother of the bridegroom, both of Nampa, Idaho. Baskets of yellow gladiolus and ferns decorated the church for the ceremony. Mrs. Clynton Crisman played the traditional organ wedding music and Mrs. Wayne Roberts was soloist. Following the ceremony a re ception was held at the church. Mrs. Milo Hardin and Mrs. James Smith cut and served the' wedding cake while Mrs. Alvin Roberts and Mrs. Dean Roberts poured the punch. Miss Nadine Brood of Phoenix was in charge of the guest book while Miss Pat Leek and Miss Kay John son were at the gift table. Assisting at the reception were Mrs. Mary Langston, Mrs. Connie Allen and Mrs. Eunice Jones, all of Central Point. For her daughter's wedding Mrs. Archibald wore a navy blue frock with white accessor ies. Mrs. Morse chose a floral frock in pale green. They both wore pink carnation corsages. .The newlywed couple will make their home in Nampa fol lowing a wedding trip to Yel lowstone National park. For her traveling attire the bride wore a beige suit with brown acces sories. The bride attended Medford Parties Precede Ford-Jackson Wedding Rites The days preceding the wed ding of Miss Cynthia Jackson to Patrick Ford are filled with par ties for the bride-elect and her fia-.ce. The marriage ceremony is set. for Saturday, September 14, at three o'clock in the af ternoon at Sacred Heart church The reception will be at Rogue Valley Country club. Friday morning Mrs. Robert Norris, Mrs. B. L. Lageson and Mrs. Ben Trowbridge were host esses for a brunch party at Mrs. Norris' home, 1900 Hillcrest road, complimenting Miss Jack son. She was showered with gifts for her new home, and later bridge was played. A large bride's bouquet was suspended over the spot where the gifts were assembled, and this was then presented to the guest of honor. About 30 guests attended. Thursday afternoon Mrs. Han ley Heffernan was hostess for a luncheon honoring Miss Jack son, inviting guests to Hanley lands, Ross lane. A group of the bride-elect's close friends were bidden to the event. The luncheon table was cen tered with an arrangement of baby roses and white bells. Dur ing the afternoon the hostess presented Miss Jackson a silver marriage cup, engraved with the names of the couple. The mar riage cup, a custom originating in Europe, is used to drink a toast on the wedding day, and on anniversaries thereafter. Parties for the betrothed cou ple are planned for every day this week. Miss Jackson's par ents are Mr. and Mrs. Glenn L. Jackson, 117 Greenway circle. Mr. Ford, a son of Mr. and Mrs. William A.
