Mrs. Landing had been a resi dent of Medford 15 years, and is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Walter Schaible, of Deford, Mich.; and one son, Ivan Brown. Two Juvenile Girls Arrested by Police Two1 Medford juvenile girls wer released to their parents after being arrested by city police - in connection with the theft of a purse. A 13-year-old told police she took a purse from the dressing room at Jackson Hot Springs swimming pool July 24, police said. . ' She gave a watch, which was in the purse, to a 12-year-old girl friend? who admitted ac cepting the article, police said. The case awaits action by ju venile authorities. Leading groups showed mod est gains on average although there were many losers through out the list. Steel issues felt some pres sure late in the session. August 18. 1957 2 Young The Dalles Girls Clubbed While Sleeping in Yard The Dalles IP) An unknown assailant attacked two llyear- old girls early today as they were sleeping outdoors, and fractured the skull of one of them. The girls were sleeping in sleeping bags in the yard of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Heldt here. The intruder first struck Marry Mat thew, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Mathew, fracturing her skull and knocking her uncon scious. Then he struck Barbara Heldt but the blow did not knock her out. She started screaming and her father rushed to the yard. The assailant, apparently star Demonstration Set For Swimming Class A swim demonstration of the 9 a.m. Tiny Tot swim class will be held at the YMCA Monday, Aug. 19, at 8 p.m. The class is for children from six through eight years of age. The purpose of the demonstra tion is so parents who are un able to attend the morning class can see what their children are learning. Jan Stevens will assist Gor don Williams, YMCA physical director, in the demonstration.
