assailant attacked two llyear-
old girls early today as they
were sleeping outdoors, and
fractured the skull of one of
them.
The girls were sleeping in
sleeping bags in the yard of Mr.
and Mrs. Fred Heldt here. The
intruder first struck Marry Mat
thew, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Ray Mathew, fracturing her
skull and knocking her uncon
scious. Then he struck Barbara Heldt
but the blow did not knock her
out. She started screaming and
her father rushed to the yard.
