Mrs. Herbert Nill Nill-Crawford Wedding Held In Eugene Lutheran Church From Eugene comes news of the wedding of Miss Sally Craw ford to Herbert Nill, formerly of Medford and now of Eugene. Ihe bride is a daughter of Mr and Mrs. Charles Crawford, Rugby, N.D., and the bride groom's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Earl E. Nill, 25 Myers court, Medford. The ceremony took place Sat urday, July 27, at Central Luth eran church in Eugene, with Pastor Harold Aalbue reading the single-ring rites at eight o'clock in the evening Mr. Crawford gave his daughter in marriage The bride wore a gown of point d'esprit over net and taf feta designed with close-fitting bodice, high round neckline and giant puffed sleeves. The bodice nd billowing skirt were trim med with venise lace edging in panel effect. She carried a bou quet of gardenias and stephano- tis and her finger-tip length veil of French illusion was held by a satin crown trimmed with seed pearls and pleated net. The bride carried a lace handker chief which belonged to her grandmother. Mrs. Stanley Markwardt of Moorhead, Minn., was honor at tendant for her sister and bridesmaids were Miss Jeanne Crawford, Eugene, another sis ter, and Miss Karen McDaniel, Portland. Their identical gowns were of yellow point d'esprit and they .carried cascades of yellow gladiolus and white carnations. Mr. Nill was best man for his son and ushers were Pat Bur rington and Jack Morris, both Eugene. Yellow and white gladiolus, gypsophila and daisies arrang ed with candjes decorated the church. Miss Ann Stearns was soloist. The reception which followed was in the church parlors. Pour ing were Mrs. John Ousterhout, Medford, sister of the bride groom, Mrs. Thomas Warlick and Miss Shirlee McGree. Mrs. Fred Kinsley and Mrs. Glenn Warberg cut and served the wedding cake. The bride's mother wore a dress of sheer summer print with white accessories and a corsage of pink rosebuds. The bridegroom's mother chose a dress of semi-sheer navy blue with white hat and her flowers were pink rosebuds. Mr. Nill and his bride spent their honeymoon at Lake Tahoe and San Francisco, Calif., and are now at home at 1083 East Nineteenth street, Eugene. For traveling the bride wore a pearl gray ensemble with pink acces sories and a gardenia corsage. . The bride, a graduate of the University of Oregon, is a mem ber of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority. Where You Park at the Door Book Club Gives Parry ."My Fair Lady" was the theme of the annual summer party of Contemporary Book club held last Sunday evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Allen R. Smith, 102 Black Oak drive. Garden torches lighted the-scene, and baskets of flow ers stood at their bases. Carts of flowers added color to the garden. Mrs. Edward Sickels, vocalist, and Mrs. Otto Frohnmayer, pi anist, presented a condensed version of the popular musical comedy, "My Fair Lady." They were introduced by Richard Gray, wearing a George Apley costume. Mrs. Robert Shepherd was chairman of arrangements, with Mrs. Gray as. co-chairmsn. Oth ers on the committee were Mrs. Ralph Barnes, Mrs. A. N. Pot ter Jr., and Mrs. E. P. Vilas. More than 30 members and guests attended. Visitors Depart For Eastern Homes Mr. and Mrs. Harlow Carpen ter have left for their home in Rockport, Mass., after a stay in Medford with Mr. Carpenter's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Alfred S. V. Carpenter,' Old Stage road. Mrs. Carpenter left Friday after noon by plane, and Mr. Carpen ter, who is motoring east, left Saturday. Mrs. George R. Martin and small daughter, Katharine, who have ben in Medford with Mrs. Martin's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Donald S. Clark, 401 road, left Saturday by plane for their home in Bronxville, N.Y. On the same flight east was Miss Kath arine Cass who was returning to her home in Elizabeth, N.J., aft er having been a guest here of the Alfred Carpenters. Mother Here Mrs. R. C. Bamber, Seattle, Wash., is in Medford as a guest of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. E. Ronald Rice, Saginaw drive. graduate of Medford High school and the university and is fleet sales manager for a Eugene automobile agency. His frater nity is Theta Chi. Attending the wedding from Medford were the bridegroom's parents and his brother-in-law andi sister, Mr. and Mrs. John Ousterhout and children. Mr. and Mrs. Martin Bernard Tucker (Landis-Shangle Photo) Tucker-Miller Wedding Held in Ashland Church Linda Lou Lindgren Autumn Wedding Planned by Couple Mr. and Mrs. S. C. Lindgren, 34 North Peach street, Medford, announce the engagement o f their daughter, Linda Lou, to David Eugene Haraden, son of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Haraden, Hood River, Ore. The wedding has been set for November 30 in Medford Seventh-day Adventist church. Miss Lindgren is a graduate of Columbia academy, Battle ground, Wash., and her fiance attended the same school. Ashland Our Lady of the Mountain Catholic church in Ashland was the setting Satur day, August 3, for the eleven o'clock morning wedding of Miss Beverly Darlene Miller and Martin Bernard Tucker. The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence E. Miller, 1059 Park street, Ashland. The bride groom is a son of Mrs. Margurite Graham of Cucuta, Colombia, South America, and the late Homer b. Tucker of Medford. The Rev. Ernest J. Jackson officiated at the double ring nuptial mass attended by 100 relatives and friends. The bride wore a floor length gown of white tulle and lace over satin styled with scoop neckline and long sleeves. The bouffant skirt had a panel of tiered lace and tulle in the back and the bride's white tulle veil edged with lace was held by a crown of lace and seed pearls. She carried a bouquet of sweet heart roses on a white prayer book encircling a white orchid which she placed on the altar at the close of the mass. Mr. Miller escorted his daughter to the al tar. Miss Donna Bibeau was honor attendant for the bride and Miss Katherine Ingle, Miss Judy John son and Miss Vivian Stevenson were bridesmaids. They wore frocks of nylon over taffeta fashioned : with fitted bodices and full skirts with ' taffeta bows in back. Miss Bibeau's dress was orchid colored while the other attendants wore pink. Each wore a headdress of nylon to match her frock and carried a cascade bouquet of Ester Reed daisies. Little Deborah Roberts was f lowergirl and Alan Hoadly was ring bearer. Harvey Sovenson served as best man while Richard Bourne, Jim Sinko and Gary Reymers seated the guests. Pink and white flowers dec orated the church for the cere mony and Mrs. E. Berge played the traditional organ wedding music. For her daughter's wedding Mrs. Miller chose a navy blue sheath dress with white accents and navy white accessories. Her corsage was of pink and white sweetheart roses and stephanotis. Mrs. M. H. Tucker, Ashland, grandmother of the bridegroom, wore a wheat colored dress with matching accessories'. Her cors age was of pale pink orchids Following the ceremony a reception was held at the home of 'the bride's parents. Mrs. Douglas Johnson cut and served the wedding cake, Mrs. Robert Frazier, sister of the bridegroom, presided at the punch bowl and Miss Janet Gibson poured the coffee. Miss Evelyn Deets was in charge of the guest book while Miss Beverly Hakes and Miss Barbara Johnson were at the gift table. The newlyweds leave today for Boulder, , Colo, where they will both attend the University of Colorado. For her traveling attire the bride chose a toast col ored sheath with matching jack et and flax colored accessories. Her corsage was an orchid. The bride is a graduate of Ashland Senior High school. The bridegroom is also a graduate of Ashland Senior High school and has been making his home at 184 Hargadine street, Ashland. Van Homes Leave After Brief Visit Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Van Home and daughters, Lisa and Beatrice, of Portland, have re turned to their home after a brief visit here with Mr. and Mrs. Dunbar Carpenter, Foot hills road. Mrs. Van Home is Mr. Carpenter's sister. Mr. Van Home is head of the Multnomah county library sys tem, and is president of the Ore gon State Library association. During their stay here the Van Homes were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred S. V. Carpenter for one of the Shakespearean festival plays. 4 Paterson Home Scene of Party For Garden Club . ' Mrs. William W. Paterson Sr., loaned her home to Laurel Gar den club for a card party Au gust 7. Thirty-one guests attend ed. Mrs. Paterson with her co hostesses, Mrs. Andrew J. Guf fin, Mrs. Jack Demory and Mrs. Clarence Woodard served lunch eon prior to cards. The state president, Mrs. A. O. Floyd, the Siskiyou district director, Mrs. Ira Fitzgerald and assistant director, Mrs. Otto Nagel, all of Medford, were present. Other . Lady Lions Hold Annual Dinner "Medford Lady Lions held the annual potluck dinner at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Campbell, 21 So. Groveland avenue, August 3. The dinner was served buffet style in the patio. More than 56 members and their husbands attended. The evening was spent view ing color slides of the many ac tivities of the Lions club during this past year, with the highlight being the state convention in June and the international con vention held recently in San Francisco.
