Washington Mi A combina tion of adverse weather, produc tion controls and the sou bank may cut the 1957 total crop to its lowest level since 19ol. The Agriculture Department said in the first production re port for the season that floods and excessive rain damaged prospects for corn, cotton, soy beans and other crops. The ad verse weather also forced har vesting delays resulting in re duced yields of many early rip ening fall grains. But the report issued Wednes day said some improvement in prospects is possible if favorable condi tions predominate for growth, maturity,, and harvest' the rest of the season. KALLAND Funeral services for Atlantus W. Kalland, 71, of 2246 Fowler lane, Medford, who died Wednes day. will be held at Conger-Morris Saturday at 9:30 a.m. Elder James Davidson of the Reorgan lzed Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints will offic iate. Committal will be in Sis kiyou Memorial park. Mr. Kalland was born Nov. 11, 1885, on a ship in the Atlan tic ocean. In 1917 in Chicago, 111. he was married to Inga Magnu son, who survives. Other survivors include daugh ter, Mrs. De Wayne Miller, Med ford: two brothers in Norway and seven grandchildren. IHVIN C. POOL Funeral services for Irvin C. Pool, 72, of 207 East McAndrews rd., who died Wednesday in a local hospital, will be held at Conger-Morris Friday at 1 p.m. The Rev. Joseph Munshaw of the Eagle Point Community Bible church will officiate. Committal will be in Siskiyou Memorial park. Mr. Pool was born May 13, 1885, in Eagle Point. .Survivors include half sister, Mrs. Amy Brown, Eagle Point; and half nephews. Lyle and Wes ley Hartman, both of Jacksonville. NORMAN LEE BEAN Norman Lee Bean, son of Mr and Mrs. Frank Bean, Rogue River, died July 3 while on duty with the Navy aboard the USS Lake Champlain at Marseilles, France. Mr. Bean was born March 12, 1935. in Pineville, Mo. In April of 1942 the family moved to Rogue River where he entered grade school and continued through high school, graduating with the class of 1954. On Sept. 17, 1954. Mr. Bean enlisted in the Navy, and was stationed at Jacksonville, Fla., and later in Norfolk, Va. He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Bean; a brother, William Bean; a sister, Mrs. Ava Hodge; a niece, Sharon Hodge: a nephew, Rodger Hodge, and his grandmother, Mrs. Lil ian Bean, of La Marr, Mo. Mr. Bean was to be married Aug. 3 to lliss Katherine Brown, of Jacksonville, Fla. Charles O. (Pat) Larison, 68, of 832 Minnesota ave., died in a local hospital this morning. He was a resident of Medford for the past 25 years, and until recently was an accountant with the California Oregon Power company. His wife, Mrs. Kath ryn M. Larison, is a teacher in the Washington school. Chapel Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
