OPi Frank W. Brewster, boss of the Team sters' Western conference, was in line today for a possible mis demeanor citation as a result of a traffic accident last Friday. Police officers said Brew ster's car ran a red light on Pa cific Coast highway and was struck broadside by a pickup truck. Fire men said only a small area had been burned. Purchase Homes Mr. and Mrs. Walter Sutherland have sold their home on the Old Stage rd. north, to Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Johnson of Central Point. The Sutherlands have purchased the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Yost, 562 Garfield st., Medford. The Yosts are currently living in a trailer court at Talent and plan to move to Palm Springs, Ariz., in the fall. Obituaries HENRY J. CARTER Ashland Henry J. Carter, 79, of 156 North Main St., Ash land, died early last night follow ing a stroke yesterday morning. He was born July 13. 1877, in McKinney, Tex. On April 25, 1906, he was married to Hester Glenn in Montesano, Wash. They moved to Ashland in 1910, and he was a groceryman and oper ated a service station here for several years. He was a member of the First Methodist church of Ashland, Hie Masons and the Elks lodge. Survivors include his wife, two children, Mrs. Bernice Bailey, Medford, and Hugh Car ter, Eugene; a brother, W. I. Car ter, Bellingham, Wash.; a sister, Mrs. L. B. Newman, Portland; and five grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Litwil- ler s Montain View chapel. The Rev. Louis Miles, assistant pastor at the First Methodist church in Ashland, will officiate. Entomb ment will be in the Rest Haven Mausoleum. ELSIE A. HEAD Mrs. Elsie A. Head, 67, who was born in Central Point on April 28. 1890. died unexpected ly in Klamath Falls Tuesday. She was a sister of Carl R. Bee be of the Medford Realty com pany. Funeral services will be con ducted in Klamath Falls at 2 p.m. Friday in O'Hair's Memor ial Chapel, and in Medford at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Chapel Mortuary. T 105',2 Northern Iran Hit Hard by Earthquakes Tehran, Iran (IP The Shah of Iran today sent his sister, Princess Shams, into earthquake stricken northern districts where more than 300 persons have been reported killed. The official death toll thus f;ir was 120 but Iranian news papers reported that more than 300 bodies had been recovered. The Shah, vacationing with the Queen in Europe, sent word from Geneva that Princess Shams, head of the Iranian Red Cross, should go into the strick en areas to supervise rescue work personally. Most of the 120 bodies found today were in the hard hit Lari- jan area. Tuesday night violent tremors also shook Babul, near the Cas-1 pian sea, damaging hundreds of! buildings. Devin said. Beck was before the jury for about three minutes. Devin said Beck "did not in voke the Fifth Amendment." In a terse statement to news men, Devin said: "Dave Beck Jr. came today on subpoena. He was given an op portunity of explaining evidence that previously had been given the grand jury. He declined."
