V.'est Pakistan. Dr. D. Kirkland West read the marriage service, and Dr. Van Valrth pave his daughter in mar x a:e. Th bride's gown was of white pean de soie designed princess iyl ith long sleeves and a atiiiare neckline outlined with parl beads. The full skirt was fnor length and her fingertip length veil, ornamented with prarls. was held by a pearl head-d.e-a. She carried white orchid With iephanotis. The pearls she ore weie the bridegroom's gift a: id had been brought from Japan, and in one slipper she wore a lucky sixpence which her mother brought from Scotland last year. Miss Jannon Van Valzah was her sister's honor attendant, and another sister. Miss Nancy Van Valrah. was bridesmaid. The ma id-of -honor wore a frock of pink taffeta and the bridesmaid's gown was of taffeta in a paler shacte of pink. Their flowers were pink carnations. For the wedding Mrs. Van Val zah wore a dress of peacock biue with rhinestone trim and white hat and gloves. Her flowers were white carnations. The bride's travel dress was a two-piece en semble made from raw silk brought from Japan by the bride groom. Dr. Donald L. England, Eu gene, cousin of the bride, was best man for Mr. Nelson, and Ray Dietz. cousin of the bride groom from Yuba City, Calif., was usher. Otis Swisher was soloist for the ceremony, and Mrs. H. E. Marsh was at the church organ. Baskets of white gladiolus and mairion hair fern decorated the church. About 100 guests attended the wedding and the reception which followed was in the church par lor. Mrs. John P. England, Eu gene, cousin of the bride, poured punch and her daughters, Janet and Barbara, passed the bride groom's cake. Mrs. Dick R. Jack took charge of the guest book. Mr. Nelson and his bride are spending their honeymoon in Lake Tahoe and San Francisco. Calif., and will make their home in Corvallis. Ore. The bride was graduated from Medford High school and Oregon State college and interned in dietetics at the Senator and Wife Announce Trothal Washington. D C. The en gagement of Miss Judith Morse to Wade Eaton has been an nounced by the future bride's parents. Senator and Mrs. Wayne Morse. Mr. Eaton is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred W. Eaton of Eugene. Ore. Miss Morse attended the Uni versity of Oregon and was gradu ated from George Washington university in Washington. D.C. She also studied at the Neigbor hood Playhouse School of the Theater in New York City. Mr. Eaton is an alumnus of the University of Oregon and is a June graduate of the Episcopal Church Divinity School of the Pacific in Berkeley. Calif. A late summer wedding in Eu gene is planned. Medford Couple In Palo Alto For Wedding of Son Mr. and Mrs. Fred L. Chez. 812 Palm street, have left for Palo Alto, Calif., to attend the wedding of their son, Fred E Chez, and Miss Jonita Stith. The bride-elect is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Stith, Musko gee. Okla. The wedding will take place Tuesday, June 18, in Stanford Memorial chapel at four o'clock, and the newly-weds will travel to Oklahoma for their honey moon. The rehearsal supper was given by the Van Valzahs at their home, and following the wedding and reception, a buffet supper was given at their home for out-of-town guests and rela tives. Linda Obenchain Named to Office Central Point Miss Linda Obenchain, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Obenchain of Cen tral Point, was recently elected state president of the college clubs section of the Oregon Home Economics association. In stallation of the new officers was held at the OHEA conven tion in Salem. Miss Obenchain is a junior in home economics at Oregon State college and is a member of Delta Zeta sorority. ttXOl Aflet fcT Couple Wed In Ceremony At Coos Bay Mr. and Mrs. Jack E. McMil lan have returned to Medford following their marriage in Coos Bay Monday, June 3. The bride is the former Mrs. Shirley June Smith, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest J. Cox of 412 Crater Lake avenue. She had been making her home at 207 West Main street where the couple is now at home. The bridegroom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry McMillan of Payette. Idaho, and is a lieu tenant with the Medford Citv Police department. The single-ring ceremony was held at 1:30 o'clock with Justice of the Peace John Swanton of ficiating. Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Phillips of Coquille attended the couple. For the wedding the bride wore a pink cotton afternoon dress. Following the ceremony a din ner was held at the Phillips home in Coquille attended by close friends of the newlywed couple. For their wedding trip the couple went to Eureka, Calif., where a wedding dinner was given at the Stafford Inn by Mr. and Mrs. Donald Wallace, friends of the couple. Prior to returning to Med ford June 10 the couple travel ed to Clear Lake, Calif., for the weekend. The bride attended Medford public schools and is a telephone operator for Pacific Telephone and Telegraph company. The bridegroom attended Vale. Ore., schools and has been a member of the Medford City Police de partment since June, 1952. Lawn Ceremony ' Marries Couple The lawn at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Edward J. Lodge, 5421 Pacific Highway south. Medford, was the scene of a wedding Sat urday, June 8, when their daugh ter. Miss Nona Irene Lodge be came the bride of Gerry Lee Keys. The single-ring ceremony was held at 2:30 o'clock with the Rev. L. L. Neifert. pastor of the Talent Friends church of ficiating. The bridegroom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Keys, 136 Portland avenue, Medford. For her wedding the bride wore a two-piece light blue dress and her corsage was of pink roses and white carnations. Miss Donna Forrest attended the bride. She wore a light blue frock with a corsage of pink roses and white carnations. Delbert Burke, brother-in-law of the bridegroom served as best man. Mr. Lodge gave his daugh ter in marriage. Following the wedding a re ception was held at the home of the bride's parents. The bride is a graduate of Tal ent High school. In Georgia G. T. Haupert, 222 Valley View drive, left by air Friday evening for Atlanta, Ga. There he met Mrs. Haupert and their two sons who have been on a vacation trip in Atlanta since June 3 visiting Mrs. Haupert's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Brown. Grennan of Phoenix an nounce the engagement of their daughter, Marilyn Rae, to John Harold Thompson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Thompson, also of Phoenix. Miss Grennan is a graduate of Phoenix High school. Mr. Thomp son is serving with the United States Navv stationed at Pearl Harbor, T. H. No date has been set for the wedding. Coming Weddings Of Interest Here Of interest here is news of the coming weddings of the two old er sons of Dr. and Mrs. Elliott S. Dcgman, formerly of Medford and now of Wenatchee. Wash. The wedding of Miss Rita Agnes Piepel. daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank B. Piepel of Wenatchee to Charles Allan Deg nian has been set for June 22 in St. Joseph's Catholic church in Wenatchee. The bride-elect has been attending Wenatchee Valley college and is now em ployed as a secretary in the purchasing at Alcoa company Mr. Degman was graduated last week from Wenatchee Valley college and plans to attend Cen tral Washington College of Ed ucation. Ellensburg, Wash., in the fall. The Degman's oldest son. Elliott Sanford Degman Jr., and Miss Eleanor Ann Jackson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. T. D. Jackson. Klamath Falls, have set August 17 as their wedding date. The ceremony will be held in First Methodist church, Klamath Falls. Miss Jackson was graduated from Oregon State college in 1956 and has been teaching fourth grade in Salem, Ore. She will teach in the Corvallis schools next fall, and Mr. Deg man will enroll at Oregon State college this summer to continue his college course. He recently was discharged from the United States Army after two years of service with a guided missile de tachment, one year of which was spent in Europe. Miss Jackson is a member of Delta Zeta sororitv and Mr. Deg man of Delta Sigma Phi. Pitt Avenue Church of the Nazarene wedded Miss Joyce May Coiner to Cecil Edgar Baker. The new church edifice is located at the corner of Mt. Pitt avenue and Chestnut street. The bride Is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clair M. Coiner, 1112 Ben's lane, and the bridegroom is a son of Mrs. Eva Baker, Seattle, Wash. Their single-ring marriage ceremony was performed by the Rev. Dwayne Bachelor Sunday, June 9, at two o'clock in the afternoon. The bride wore a frock of white satin and all-over lace with lace duster, the dress having been sent to her from Hawaii as a gift. Mr. Coiner gave his daughter in marriage. About 35 guests at tended the wedding and 20 guests were present for the re ception, given in the home of the bride's parents. The traditional wedding cake was served with ice cream The bride, who attended Med ford schools, will remain here for the present and latter join her husband, stationed with the United States Marine corps at San Diego, Calif. Daughter Arrives After Graduation Miss Sylvia McCabe has ar rived in Medford to spend the summer with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John McCabe. 1909 East Main street Miss McCabe was graduated from Seattle uni versity with the class of 1957. The Medford student was one of 386 to receive degrees in the ceremony. The Most Rev. Thomas Connally archbishop of Seattle, conferred the degrees and William M. Allen, president of the Boeing Airplane com pany, gave the commencemen, address. Sister Here Mrs. Agnes I. Merrell of Oak land. Calif., has arrived to spend a week with her brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Wil liam F. Isaacs, Modoc road. Mrs. Merrell formerly lived in Medford.
