Mrs. Not Schoen, Vancouver, Wash., North
west district chairman of the American
Rose society, will be in Medford June 7-8
to preside over the annual district conven
tion. She is a trustee of the American Rose
foundation and a candidate for the vice
presidency of ARS.

Mrs. Charles Andreoson, Eugene, (at left) and Mrs. W. R. Peabody, chaft
man of the third annual rose show of Medford Rose society, are shown in
Mrs. Peabody's garden at 922 Murray avenue. Mrs. Andreoson, who has
about 1,200 rose bushes of about 800 varieties in her garden, spoke for
the local club Monday night. A registered row show judge, Mrs. Andreoson

Medford Rose society will be host next week end
for the ninth annual convention of the Northwest
district, American Rose society. Sessions will be held
June 7 and 8, and the third annual rose show of the
Medford society will take place Friday.
.More than, 1 50 rose growers from Oregon, Wash
ington, British Columbia and parts of Montana and
Idaho included in the Northwest district are expected
to attend the convention sessions and hundreds of
roses will be entered in the annual show.
Mrs. Nat Schoen, Vancouver, Wash., Northwest
district director of the ARS, will be here for the
convention and show. Carl Norris and Mrs. L. G.
Gentner of the local society are convention co-chairmen
and Mrs. Wilbur Peabody it rose show chair
man, with Mrs. Norris as co-chairman.
Convention speaker will include Dr. Charles
Vernon Covell, Berkeley, Clif., past president of the
ARS, who will talk at a banquet Saturday night at
Rogue Valley Country club; fred Glaes, director of
ARS from Reading, Perm., who will conduct a forum
discussion Saturday afternoon; Clyde Stock, San
Jose, Calif., president of th American Association
of Nurserymen; Fred Edmunds Jr., president of
River Ranch nursery; Mrs. Daniel Heffner, Portland,
who will conduct a rose judging panel and a rose
judging class Saturday afternoon; Mrs. Harry Elliot,
noted flower arranger from Portland, and Dr. Paul
Smith, past president of Tacomd Jtos society, Ta
coma, Wash.
At a dinner Friday night at the Medford hotel
Ernest Vehrs, Grants Pass, consulting Rosarian for
the district, will shew colored garden slides.
