Priced t)a ef Market In his brief in support o hia motion to dismiss, Morgan haa alleged that the series of per centage increases-duriRg the past ten years has had the effect of compounding increases upon in creases until the western pro ducer has been priced out of estern mafkets and can no long er ship to them in competition with eastern producers of the same commodities. Western pro ducers, according to Morgan, have been priced out of eastern markets because the increases have "widened the gap" between eastern and western producers to a drastic degree. In support of his contention .Morgan cited figures shewing that the cumulative total of freight rate increases since 197 amounts to between. 109 and 114 per cent higher freight rates than those existing in 17 and that the average Oregon shipper is today faced with differentials between his own costs and those of his eastern producers averag ing about $1.12 per hundred pounds freight shipped.
