They are (left to right) Mrs. Tom G. Polk and Mrs. Fred Morlan, co-chairmen in charge of the annual event, Mrs. Boyd Budge, past president, and Mrs. John Pletsch, cur rent president of the group. Mrs. Budge also served as one of the commentators for the show, which drew a large' number of guests. Show theme was "This Is Your Life" and models were members of the organization and their children. Burelson's and Leon's pro- ' ided clothing for the style show. John Lusk and Mrs. Paul Dix provided the musical back ground and Mrs. Norman Buvick gave a reading during intermission. Republicans Plan May Silver Tea A silver tea will be held by Jackson County Republican Women's club on Monday after noon, May 20, at the home of Mrs. C. Rease Braley, 245 Valley View Drive. The event is sched uled from. 3:00 to 5:30 p.m. so that working women may at tend. Mrs. Wayne Stine, president, states that the tea is open to the public and members of the organization are asked to invite guests. . . Mrs. C D. Francis is general chairman. House arrangements are being made by Mrs. Braley, Mrs. William H. Bartlett and Mi3. Sheridan Scott. Mrs. Ernst Ruegger, Mrs. Myers Jones, Mrs. Chester Wendt and Mrs. Rodney ( Keating are In charge , of re Visitors Hondred Tt Recent Party Mrs. Clarence Boyd of Eugene and Mrs. F. J.. Wilmot of Cor vallis were among the eleven friends who attended a potluck luncheon Saturday, May 4, at the home of Mrs. A. W. Denney on Madrona lane. Mrs. Boyd and Mrs. Wilmot are former Melford residents. Mrs. Boyd was a houseguest of Mrs. Susan Eads while Mrs. Wilmot was visiting Mrs. Angle Ray Attending the luncheon besides Mrs. Boyd, Mrs. Wilmot, Mrs. Ray and Mrs. Eads were Mrs. C. M. Hon, Mrs. Lydia Goff, Mrs. Walter Kindred, Mrs. Ethel Lath am, Mrs. John Kirkpatric and Mrs. Alice Davis. Mrs. Wilmot was also enter tained at the home of Mrs. Lath am and by Mr. and Mrs. Hon during her visit. Auxiliary Makes Convention Plans Medford Lady Lions held the May meeting at the home of Mrs. Alva Perkins Tuesday evening. Mrs. W. Edward Ashton and Mrs. Robert Dames assisted. Mrs.Moseph Tomjack, president, conducted the meeting. Mrs. Thomas Esslinger and Mrs. Larry Neely, guests, were introduced by the membership chairman, Mrs. Herbert Seitz. Plans have been completed for the state convention to be held in this city June 20, 21 and 22. Co-chairmen for the conven tion are Mrs. Kenneth Campbell and Mrs. Lee Mellish. Assisting them are Mrs. Herbert Seitz, in charge of arrangements for the business meetings; Mrs. Elwood Hedberg, chairman of decora tions for the luncheon; Mrs. Alan Jewett, general chairman for the luncheon. . 112 E. Mrs. Bert (James) Pree was Kiwanian Dames "Mystery Model" for the annual style show held Monday afternoon at Rogue Valley Country club. To disguise her appearance Mrs. Pree wore a mask, heavy makeup, a wig and held slices of apples inside each cheek; padding under her blue lace gown added many pounds to her figure. In spite of this, a few sharp guests made correct guesses on her identity. Medford Student Named President Salem Lewis Bright, junior from Medford, was elected pres ident of Willamette university's chapter of Phi Delta Theta dur ing voting held last week. He and his cabinet will hold office until the close of the fall sem ester. The student has also been hon ored by selection for member ship in the scholastic honor fra ternity, Omicron Delta Kappa, and will be initiated May 26. Last year he distinguished him self with election to Tau Kappa Alpha, speech fraternity, and appointment as assistant in the office of dean of men. Active in debate at the university, he was picked as the leading speaker of the Pacific Coast conference in tournament competition. Young Bright is also a mem ber of Sigma Alpha Chi, service honor society, and is holder of the Elk Lumber company ani KMED Radio scholarships. He is a graduate of Medford High school, where he won a number of trophies in speech and debate Young Bright is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Philip Bright, 1797 Minear road, Medford. Roxy Ann Court Plans Initiation Roxy Ann court, Order of the Amaranth, will conduct initia tion at the monthly meeting at Medford Masonic temple, Thurs day, May 16, at 8 p.m. Presid ing will be the Royal Matron, Mrs. Vernon Turpin and Royal Patron, Ole Skoog. A memorial service will be held for members of the court who have died this past year. Refreshments will be served in the dining room at the close of the evening by a committee of Mr. and Mrs.. Lloyd Caton, Mrs. Verner Lugnet, Mrs. Elton Waldron and Miss Florence Bain, with Mrs. Skoog as chairman. Luncheon Given In Klamath Falls For Sojourners Twenty one Sojourners and guests journeyed to Medford Wednesday where they were guests of the Klamath Fall Soj ourners for luncheon and cards. Making the trip were Mrs. Marvin Yost, Mrs. Walter Win ner, Mrs. L. J. Enterkine, Mrs. Gene Chamberlain, Mrs. Clyde Knight, Mrs. Roy Stein, Mrs. Floyd Robertson, Mrs. A. L. Mc Clure, Mrs. John Holmes, Mrs. Ray Rundell, Mrs. J I m . Win slow, Mrs. Fred Baggenstos, Mrs. Clarence Byrd, Mrs. John Mans field, Mrs. Gerald VonTing. Mrs. A. B. Davis, Mrs. Herman Schroeder, Mrs. Thomas Reid, Mrs. M. H. Parsons, Mrs. Sam Jones, and Mrs. Jack Broad bent. A social hour was held before luncheon which was served in the Ponderosa Room of the Wil lard Hotel. Cards were played during the afternoon with prizes going to Mrs. A. B. Davis, Mrs. John Holmes and Mrs. Clar ence Byrd for bridge; pinochle prizes to Mrs. B"oyd Robertson and Mrs. Sam Jones; ' canasta prizes to Mrs. Thomas Reid and Mrs. A. L. McClure. A special award was ' given to the presi dent, Mrs. Gene Chamberlain. The next meeting of Medford Sojurners will be held on May 23, at the Pythian hall. All wo men who have lived in Medford and vicinity for two years or less are invited to attend and become members.
