A little more than a year later, he was "elected" piesident. by a consti tutional convention. Wenalchee Hit By Flash Flood Wenatchee, Wash. (U.R) A flash flood hit Wenatchee Sundav nisht with mafor r9Vi- ing two feet deep in downtown streets before it receded. The storm and flash flood rolled out of Number Two can yon at 6 p.m. and not until near ly four hours later did the water subside. Mud and debris piled up on lawns of more than 200 homes and the basements of many downtown business houses were flooded. The flash flood forced the evacaution of a number of homes and cut off electric power in most of the city for several hours. Virtually all telephones were out of action for a time. At one point in east Wenat chee the flood gouged out a gully 10 feet wide. $64,000 Challegne .
