Trash Fire City firemen ex tinguished a trash fire on a lot at the rear of a vacant house at 215 Beatty st. about 10:10 p.m. yesterday after neighbors com plained of the blaze. It was burning during prohibited hours. Wrong Date The Jackson County Grange council will meet Saturday, April 13, at the Cen tral Point grange hall, rather than April 31 as was previously reported. Those attending are asked to bring cookies, accord ing to Ralph James, secretary of the council. Boy Interrogated City police Thursday cleared the theft of a bicycle from a Medford boy March 31-with the interrogation of a 14-year-old Medford youth. The youth was released to his mother with instructions to ap pear before county juvenile au thorities, police said. Accident A car operated by j Harold Brooke Pence, 113 East 11th st., Medford, was involved in an accident Thursday with a parked car registered to Fred erick G. Noah, Grants Pass, on Riverside ave. between 12th and Ninth sts., according to city police. Case Cleared A case involv ing damage being done April I, at a vacant house at 320 West Clark st., Medford, has been cleared with the interrogation of six Medford youths Thursday, according to city police. Two of the boys were aged nine, two were eight and the others were j aged six and 10, police said. Four Appear in Court Thursday Twe Phoenix juveniles and two 22-year-old men from Med ford and Phoenix appeared in district court yesterday on charges involving liquor. Gilbert Ivan Campfield, 22, of 2391 Howard ave., Medford, and Curtis Ray Ford, 22, Phoe nix, were each fined $35 on charges of furnishing liquor to a minor. Larry Cecil Coggins, 18, Phoenix, was lodged in the county jail in lieu of $15 fine on charges of illegal possession of liquor. The 17-year-old boy was fined $15 on charges of illegal possession of liquor. The four were arrested by Medford police Wednesday at the Craterian theater, 23 South Central ave. The arrests were made after police were inform ed several boys were drinking in the theater balcony. Wrong Lottery Number Mexico City (U.R) Ignacio Mejia Gonzalez, a 27-year-old bootblack, said today he stabbed a fortune teller because she failed to predict the winning number in an $80,000 lottery. The bootblack told police the crystal gazer, who operates un der the name of Nelly Muley, charged him $16, but gave him the wrong number. MUSIC Stock Market Helped By Aircraft New York Strength m air crafts and selected industrials gave the stock market a firmer tone today on slightly increased volume. Rails improved fractionally but Peoples Gas pulled utilities down from the 26-year high set by that average Thursday. Boeing airplane was a feature irf the aircrafts, up more than two points at its high. Lockheed rose more than one and Glenn Martin and Bendix around a point each. HANNA Mrs. Sarah Louise Hanna, 876 Siskiyou blvd., Ashland, died last night in a local hospital. Conger-Morris Funeral home is in charge of arrangements. OTTO EMIL MERTEN Funeral services for Otto E. Merten, 67, of Medford, who died Wednesday, will be held at Conger-Morris Saturday at 11 a.m. The Rev. G. Herbert Hil lerman of the Zion Lutheran church will officiate. Private committtal will be in Siskiyou Memorial park. Mr. Merten was born Sept 19, 1889, in Germany. On March 23, 1914, in Germany he was married to Augusta Kinde, who survives. He lived in the Wolf creek area since 1934 moving to Medford three years ago. Survivors besides his wife in clude daughter, Mrs. E. Virgil Goff, Medford; a sister in Ger many; three grandchildren and one great grandson. HJALMAR A. RAMSTROM Funeral services for Hjalmar A. Ramstrom, 67, of 2219 East Main st., Medford, who died Wednesday, will be held at Perl Funeral home at 11:30 a.m. Sat urday. The Rev. Raymond W, Hurn, pastor of the First Church of the Nazarene, will officiate. Internment will be in Siskiyou Memorial park. ivir. namstrom was Dorn in Sweden, Oct. 3, 1889. Mr. and Mrs. Ramstrom lived in Canada several years, and moved to Medford in 1937. For several years, they lived near Central Point, where Mr. Ramstrom farmed. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Hulda E. Ramstrom; one daughter, Mrs. Ruth Stark, Med ford; one son, Carl Ramstrom, Los Angeles, Calif three broth ers, Samuel Ramstrom, Henning Ramstrom, and Arthur Ram strom, all of whom live in Swe den; and four grandchildren. EDWARD LUNDBERG Funeral services for Edward Lundberg, 91, of 117 12 Mistletoe St., Medford, will be held at Perl Funeral home at 10 a.m. Saturday. The Rev. D. E. Mil lard will officiate. Interment will be in Medford IOOF ceme tery. Mr. Lundberg was born in Sweden, Jan. 3, 1866, and has been in the United States for the past 75 years and in this community for the past 40 years. He was a retired carpenter and was married in Grants Pass May 9, 1948. Survivors include his son, Thor Lundberg, also known as James Kelly, of Bakersfield, Calif., and a niece, Mrs. St. George, Turlock, Calif. The total is 282 below the number of donors necessary to meet Medford's 290-pint quota, blood ' program officials said. They stated, however, that it is not necessary to make an ap pointment in order to donate blood. Drop-in donors will also be accepted. Cities, Counties To Get State Liquor Funds Portland (U.P.) Consumers of liquor in Oregon will enrich the state's general fund and cities and counties by some $4, 757,152 during April, according to Joseph Nance, administrator for the Oregon Liquor Control Commission. Nance said that the funds would come from liquor sales and privilege tax collections for the first three months of the year and represents surplus over and above the commission's working capital. (U.R) The body of Duglas Mullarky, 59, publish er of the weekly Times-Herald here, was found on a downtown street about 2:30 a.m. Thursday. Police were investigating pos sibility that Mullarky was the victim of a hit and run driver. Officers said Mullarky 's body was discovered by William F. Bardwell, a Burns attorney. It was lying in the street and had been run over, according to po lice. Coos Bay TV Channel Application on File Washington (U.R) Pacific Television Inc. Thursday applied to the Federal Communications Commission to operate a new TV station on channel 11 at Coos Bay. Ore. Pacific Television is owned by Eugene Television. Inc., which operates station KVAL-TV on VHF channel 13 at Eugene, Ore. Pacific proposes to operate the Coos Bay station as a satellite to KVAL-TV, using the Eugene sta tion's programs.
