Under old business the club discussed how to decorate its pens at the fair. This year the club is going all out for this drive. A, committe of Willie De- brick and Dave Foote will check into the matter. Under new business the club considered ways of choosing good market hogs and breeding stock. Jim Fink gave a demon stration on earmolding a hog. Russel Fink gave a demonstra tion on earmolding a litter of 10 pigs. Mr. Fink told the group how to fill in its record books. The club will hold its next meeting at the Foote residence, on Taylor rd., April 22. Refresh ments were served at the meet ing by Mrs. Debrick. Dave Foote Reporter Lone Pine Merry Maids- The Lone Pine Merry Maids met at the home of their leader, Mrs. Phyllis Mitchel, on March 18. Demonstrations were given on making baking powder biscuits by Georgia Mitchel and Susan Flett, and hot dog special by Susan Hall and Evelyn Young. Sally Flett, Doris Young and Jerita Leeper made deviled eggs, and Laurel Flett and Ilene Mitchel demonstrated hot cocoa. The girls stayed at Mrs. Mitch el's and had the food prepared in the demonstrations for supper. Mrs. Mitchel served surprised chocolate cake, which had the name of the club written across it. The business meeting was omitted as time was limited. Evelyn Young ' Reporter ' pitals. The idea is a good one. Mrs. Robert Gimble, secretary oi the Amicus Association, 2807 Boyd ave., Indiarapolis, Ind., an4 Mrs. Charlotte E. DeCroes, a tfcspter member, tell me of some of the splendid things their group is doing for patients in the Central State hospital. They get clothing for men and women who sadly need a new suit or dress; they visit the patients, and they plan picnics for them. They get ' help from the owners of clothing factories who let them have dresses for as low as $1 each. Clothes delight some of the women patients who for yea-rs haven't had a new dress. The patients love the attention, asid the contacts with persons frora the "eutside." Mrs. DeCrees says there ae Hew 13 such clubs t k a t she ksows of. Eventually, the mem bers hope to supply new clotk iisg, little birthday gifts, and some goodies ta eat for every patient in the hospital; tkey want to beautify some of fee rooms in the place. When I think of how complete ly forgotten by the public most of the patients in state mental hospitals are, I am thrilled to read of the fine work these wom en are doing. How vonderful it would be if more such elubs would be formed! A point to be remembered is that many per sons in a mental hospital become much saner if some kiadly peF son comes to treat them like a normal humas feeing.
