Ashland Woman Hurt
In Accident Here
Mrs. Ellen F. Cook, 53, of
Ashland, suffered several brok
en ribs, head lacerations and
shoulder injuries Thursday
when the car in which she was
a passenger collided with a gaso
line tank truck at 10th and
Front sts., according to city po
lice. She was taken to Osteopathic
hospital by Medford ambulance.
Hospital attendants said this
morning her condition was "sat
isfactory." The accident occurred when
the car in which she was riding,
operated by her brother-in-law,
Joseph L. Cook, 1205 East Main
st., Medford. collided with a
truck operated by Cecil Jerold
Read, 1320 Beatty st., Medford,
when Cook thought the truck
was going to pull over, police
said Cook reported.
