O Wes Peters, a st president, was named general chairman of the event which will be held April 26 and 27. A3c Roberta England, daugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Eng land, has been selected as leader of her class of 22 Women's Air Corps trainees at Francis E. War r.en Air Base. Wyo. Miss England will finish her technical training in March and after a short furlough at Cave Junction, will je sent to her permanent base. She enlisted last September. Ce'Verne Grennough of Cave Junction will become the bride of Chester J. Gilliam, ME3. on Sunday, Feb. 3 at 2 p.m. at the Immanuel Methodist church in Cave Junction. Gilliam, flew home from San Juan Puerto Rico, last Satur-J day, taking his mother, Mrs. Nettie Sovftll and his fiancee by surprise. He will report on Feb ruary 12 to Norflok, Va., where he has been transferred to tht Aircraft Carrier Coral Sea. After a two months trip around toe Horn, he will join his bride ft Bremerton, Wash. Rouse, whose house was destroyed by fire last Wed nesday is staying with neigh bors, the L. E. Warrens at Rough and Ready flats. His daughter Iantha, an Illinois Valley high school student s guest at He Robert Martin home at the Ill inois Valley dairy. Rouse lost all his possessions in the fire, but Iantha was bl to save her jlothes and a few personal items which were stored in har slaep- rng quarters at the guest hous behind the main building. The meeting of the Women's Society of the Methodist church, which was scheduled for the same date, was postponed due to the snow storm. In spite of the snow, the cold, and the icy condition of the roads, 36 friends of Mrs. Richard Campbell, nee Sally Jeter, turn ed out Saturday evening to hon or her at a bridal shower. The affair was held in the Fireside room of the Hornbrook Community church, and was sponsored by the Women's So ciety. Entertainment for the evening consisted of the play ing of word games, and the singing of two numbers by a group of high school girls, "I Would Be True," a favorite of Mrs. Campbell's when she at tended Sunday school here, and another son, "Sally Campbell," adopted to the tune of "Peggy O'Neil." As Sally opened her many gifts, her remarks were taken down unknown to her, by Mrs Ruth Cummins, who later pre sented them to her for her scrap book. . Out of town guests included Mrs. James M. Allen, and Mis. Richard A. Campbell, grand mother and mother of Sally's husband, both from Yrcka, Mrs. R. R. Renfro of Sacramento, Calif., and Mrs. Lawrence Guth ri of Arcadia, Kans., aunts of Sally and Mrs. Leland Stickney of Medford, a long time friend.
