On The Side By E. V. DurPng (Distributed by King FiatufM Syadict Inc.) Keeping track of my weight, I step on the scales twice a day. During the hoiday season I con-! sumed some of the ever present j holiday candy. It is remarkable how a little candy can add much to your weight. Baked potatoes, 1 however, are not fattening as j generally believed. It is the but-j ter people put on potatoes that increases the weight. Duck is , more fattening than chicken. ! Bread plus butter will fatten you up fast. I have it only for break fast. Soup can make you plump. I like it but only have clam chowder on Friday. However, the major factor in keeping weight down is not have seconds. titled ''Body and Soul." It was : in "Three's A Crowd," produced in 1930. Any way, I smoke about six cigars a day and several tobacco ciga rettes. 1 have one highball be fore dinner, a double. Till How is your novel or play coming along? Have you a good title for it? Give that angle much consideration? Is very im portant. Margaret Mitchell firt titled a novel "Tomorrow is Another Day." Then after think ing it over changed the title to "Gone With The Wind." Thack eray titled a novel "Pencil Sketches of English Society." Then changed it to "Vanity Fair." Whistler titled a clever piece of work "The Correspond ence of James McNeil Whistler" and change it to "The Gentle Art of Making Enemies." Philip Gibbs called a book "What the Censor Forbade." On second thought he came up with a ter rific title, namely: "Now It Can Be Told." Sidelights The World's best looking blondes are those of Northern Italy around Milan. The best looking brunettes are to be found in Seville, Spain . . . Am asked in what show Libby Hol man introduced the torch song Among The Married There are twice as many na- tural red-haired women as there j are red-haired men. That is a ( situation that is to be regretted, j There should be at least one red haired man for every red-haired i woman, because red-haired mar ried couples are practically al ways very happy.
