On The Side (Distributed bt King By E. V. Durling Fcjturet Syndiearc. Inc.) Lady Nancy Astor owns a pri vate taxicab. Is for her exclu sive use. How I envy her. Practi cally all my adult life I have wanted to own a taxicab. It is not so expensive to buy a cab but the salary of the driver must be considered. If I become an opulent fellow, nearly the first thing I am going to acquire is a private taxicab. Think of being able to get into a taxi at54th Street and fifth Ave.. Manhattan, and saying to the driver, "To the Pimlico track in Baltimore." And then not hav ing to worry about the clicking of the meter. Wonder what the meter would register from 54th and Fifth Ave., Manhattan, to Pimlico? How about New York to Philadelphia? Or to Boston? Longevity Dr. Peebles, the minister who write that book titled "How to Live a Century," proved he knew what he was writing about. He lived to be 100 years old. When Dr. Peebles was 97, ne officiated at the marriage of Dr. A. M. Morrison, who was 100 years of age at the time. The bride was 72. Dr. Morrison is the author of a book titled "Ef ficiency of Life At One Hundred Years or More." Hone and Women Paris expert on hair care says champagne makes an excellent hair rinse, especially for red heads. Why not bring your wife home a few bottles of cham pagne some day this week? . . . Color psychologists say the color with the least sex appeal is orange. That with the most sex appeal is pink . . . Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 22) women will never admit they are wrong. They are bitter battlers for the last word. And will continue an argument far, far into the night to get it. Or, so say the stargazers. Bartenders How well informed is the bar tender at your neighborhood pub or cocktail bar? Does he know how to make a "First Night Cocktail"? That is the drink that won Max Jordan of London the title of "World's Champion Bartender" in competition with drink mixers from all over the world. The ingredients of a First Night cocktail are brandy. Van der Hum (South African), Tia Maria and Vita Cream. Paoing By Edward G. Robinson. Amer ica's greatest character actor. Real name is Edward Golden berg. He is a graduate of the College of the City of New York and has a Master of Arts De gree from Columbia. He speaks eight languages . . . Primo Cam era. At 49, he is still going strong as a professional wrestler. He was named Primo because he was the first child of his par ents. He weighed 22 pounds at birth. Some baby! I believe the New York City record for weight of an infant at birth is 20 pounds. Club No.l In Paris there is a club made up of people who were born on Christmas Day. It is called the Club Noel. If there were such a club in this country, Evelyn Nes bit would be eligible for mem bership. She was born on a Christmas Day in Pittsburgh, Pa. At 14 she became a model. At 15 she went on the stage. It was on January 25, 1906, that her husband, Harry Thaw, shot Stanford White. Evelyn was then 22. Cooking Does your wife know how to boil an egg? The supreme test of culinary skill is the ability to properly boil an egg. Nine out of 10 housewives think they un derstand egg boiling but they don't. The proper way to boil an egg is first to heat the water to a boiling point and then put the egg in it. By any other method the egg is not properly boiled.
