Falls PTA observed the 50th anaiversary of the Butte Falls school with a program held last weelt. The procram committee, con sisted of Mrs. Bob Edmondson, Mrs. Ray Chambers, Mrs. Ted Fredenburg and Mrs. N. B. Stod dard. One skit told the story of early-day school board meetings. Actual minutes from these meet ings were read. Acting school board members were FJga Ab bott, F. E. Les Casey. short school day presenta. tion was enacted by Mrs. Wm. L, Harris as teacher. Playing the part of students were Mary Lee Davies and Janis Chambers, first graders, June Reddell and Bobby Hargraves, second graders, John Chambers and Sally Davies, fourth graders. John Henshaw presented a variation of the first radio broad casts heard in Butte Falls at the school. John Fuiten gave a short his tory of the Butte Falls school and old pictures of the school and early day pupils were on display throughout the evening. and Mrs. L. L. Tungate. Mrs. Tungate is a daughter of the Kincaids. Johnny and Carol Tungate vis ited with their grandparents, the Kincaids earlier last week. The Tungates are former residents, now living in Medford. Visitors in the Fred Kincaid home Thanksgiving were Mr. Mrs. Frank Carson, a former resident, now living in Medford, visited this past week with friends in Butte Falls. Mrs. Carson visited in the homes of Mr. and Mrs. Keith Scott and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Kincaid. She is the president of the Butte Falls Garden club. While here Mrs. Carson and other members of the Garden club worked on wreaths and swags to be used in their Christ mas sale Tuesday, Dec. 12. Mrs. Alva Webster Is presently under doctors' observation at the Sacred Heart hospital. Friends are sending her get well wishes and are hoping she will be able to return home soon. Mrs. Elmer Leatherman was the winner of the Thanksgiving basket sponsored by the Butte Falls Lions' auxiliary. The Auxiliary's Christmas bas ket goes on display the first week of December, at the Butte Falls General store. Drawing will be held Wednesday, Dec. 19th. Friends and relatives are glad to see Mrs. Cal Poole home once again. Mrs. Poole was released from the hospital earlier this week and will be 84 on her next birthday. lted their daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. Clint Dale and son, Stevie, of Eureka, over Vet erans Day week end. They saw their grandson, Stevie, for the first time. Shorty Warren was hospital ized this past week with pneumonia. McKeen and son, Buddy, Louis Smith, Bill Wods and daughter, Janey, Lee Owens, Mr. and Mrs. Elmo Elfson and sons, Roger and David. Mr. and Mrs. Roger Harris vis- Mr. and Mrs. Bill Rodgers and children, Gary, B. J. and Debbie spent Thanksgiving with Mr. and Mrs. Ray Schemerhorn of Eagle Point. Mrs. Rodgers is a daughter of Mrs. Schemerhorn. The Butte Falls Mt. Pitt club held an early Thanksgiving din ner for their families Tuesday, Nov. 20, at the city hall. Mem bers cooked turkey and all the trimmings for families and guests. Guests were Mr. and Mrs. Dan Mr. and Mrs. Gerald (Jerry) McComb and daughters, Daphne and Chyrl, spent Thanksgiving with Mr .and Mrs. Vera Helbig of Grants Pass. McComb is a son of Mrs. Helbig.
