and Mrs. Morris Byrne, who raise the birds on their Upper Applegate farm. This year the Byrnes have a flock of 3,500 bronze turkeys
to help 'supply food for southern Oregon families.
Junior Red Cross members made hundreds of Thanksgiving centerpieces for U5 at
Camp White domiciliary when they met at the courthouse auditorium last week. Among
those who worked on the project were (seated, left to right) Miss Cathie Carroll, Eagle
Point, secretary of the Junior Red Cross council; Mrs. Myers Jones, cHrector, and BiQi
Quinney, Medford, junior representative on the board of directors; and (standing) Miss

Among the guests at the Champagne Supper given last
S week end by Medford Junior Service league were (left to

Mr. McCormick. The Raths are' newcomers to the valley.

Dr. and Mrs. O. J. Holboth, posed here in the new Crest
froom of Rogue Valley Country club, attended the Cham
pagne Supper. Mrs. Halboth, league member, was one of
the style show models but was photographed wearing her
own Spahish'type gown of blue lace and taffeta ribbon
with full tiered skirt. Her chandelier earrings are of bril
liants in shades of pink.

Mrs. Richard W. Lamb Jr. baked a pre-Thanksgiving pumpkin pie last week for her husband
and the little lambs. Buddy, whose real name is Dick, aged 5, and Betsy, 3'2, admire the tasty looking
pastry while Betsy, 2, examines a potholder. Baby Scott, who sat contentedly in his stroller in a
corner of the kitchen, is more interested in miik, being but four months old. The family lives at 720
Whitman place and Mr. Lamb is assistant executive for Crater Lake Boy Scout council.

One foursome ot the Junior Service league's Champagne Supper last
week end was composed of (left to right) Mrs. Sam Gilbert, Mrs. Fred W.
Greene, Colonel Greene and Mr. Gilbert. The Greenes, who had made
their home in Medford in the past, recently returned here to live after
Colonel Greene was retired from the United States Army. Both Mrs. Gilbert
and Mrs. Greene wore the long brilliant earrings which are much in vogue
with' women this fall for party finery.

Festive Season

AAid-November . in Medford means "cool
weather, more parties'bn the social calendar anJ
plans for that unique American holiday, Thanks
giving. In preparation for the day homerrfakers
are laying in supplies from garden and farm for
a sumptuous dinner,- and service organizations
of the city and county have made plans to
brighten the day for the less fortunate.
As a Thanksgiving project. Junior RscTCross
members made holiday centerpieces for Crrp
White, and collected food for Thanksgiving
baskets. ' ' o
One of the large pre-holiday parties was
the Champagne Supper given November 9 by
Medford Junior Service leagu as a benefit for
the league's kindergarten for deaf children.

Frank B. Hopewell and his mother, Wrs. James Seaver of Lexington,
Mass., prepare to sample the pink champagne which was served at the
recent supper given by Medford Junior Service league. Mrs. Seaver left
Thursday to return home after spending several days here with the Hope
wells and their sons, Henry Carlyle and Charles Edward Hopewell. Mrs.
Hopewell, a league member, joined her husband and Mrs. Seaver later
after the style show for which sh9 modeled.
