Fulton. Mo. UP- A raging fire early today left the central group ' of freshmen dormitory buildings on the campus of Wil liam Woods College for Women "a total loss." Officials said the fire was brought under control at about 1:30 a.m. (PST). They said the main freshmen Four Escape Death In Columbia River Hood River (U.R; Four per sons narrowly escaped drowning in the Columbia river near here yesterday when rough water up set their 21-foot sailboat. The Hood River county sher iff's office said John Arens. Hood River accountant, his two daughters, and Jean Manguin. an exchange student from France, were spilled into the cold water when the boat upset. Arens and Manguin managed to tread water and keep the two children afloat until rescuers reached them. The rescuers wit nessed the accident from shore and put out in a boat from the Nichols boat work. Fire officials said cause of the fire was believed to have been defective wiring in the base ment of Jones Hall.
