GRAND VIEW-LONE PINE Cub Committee To Meet By LILLIAN KNIGHT Grandvicw-Lone Pine A committee meeting for the lead ers of Cub Scout pack 44 will ' be held Thursday, Oct. 25 at 7:30 p.m. at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Gasparotti, on Crater Lake ave. There are three dens in the pack now, with more boys wanting to be assigned. Den mothers and other adult leaders are needed and anyone interested is urged to attend this meeting. The Brownie scouts, of the second and third grade girls, with their leaders, held a Brownie' "revel" at Tou Velle park Saturday, Oct. 20. Of the 28 girls in the troop, 20 were present. Mrs. Don Bench is the . leader of this troop. Tuesday afternoon, Oct. 18, mothers of the Brownie troop met at the home of Mrs. Don Bench on Roberts rd. for cof fee and a discussion of troop business. The troop is looking for a sponsor this year and any concern Interested may contact Mrs. Bench. Mr. and Mrs. John Lamb, of Pasadena, Calif., spent the week end with the Robert Stokes fam ily. They were on their way home after visiting relatives In Seattle. Lamb and Mrs. Stokes are brother and sister. William Leever returned home Oct. 14 from a successful duck hunting trip in eastern Oregon. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Huff man had a successful deer hunt ing trip into eastern Oregon, returning with both tags filled. The flu bug is busy in this vicinity, having bitten Leland Goff, A. J. Knight and Howard Huffman, to name a few. High Winds Splintered Gym for Third Time Belden, Miss. OJ.R) High winds, for the second time In three months and the third tim in 20 years, splintered the high school gymnasium here but school officials were indaunted. Supt. J. B. Henderson said, following the third storm,."We'll build it again, right here, too," pointing to the pile of rubble. Local residents urged the school to convert an old barn across from the gym site into a gymnasium. "It's been standing there for a hundred years," they said, "and the storms never hurt it."
